    This is a great little dvd player. It's small so it doesn't take up alot of space. The remote control is easy to use. Volume works well and seems like it was a good value for the money.

    I was so impressed with this dvd player I bought another one. Now have one in the master bedroom and the living room. Easy to set up, compact and plays any region dvd. Very reasonably priced.

    This is a nice cheap player that does the job and plays your movie. That was all we needed so this fit the bill. It worked well for about 9 months (we used it once or twice a week more or less) until the remote just gave out. We tried several batteries and it just would not work. The player still works fine, and we still use it, but without a remote we can’t set subtitles, select things, or rewind or forward. We just pop in a movie and press play and we’re committed. The player, when stopped, does save your spot with most DVDs, so that’s handy, but you never know which ones it won’t save. So basically, it works good for the price, but it comes with some quirks down the road.

    I have not searched for a CD/DVD player since dinosaurs ruled the earth. But with a new 43" TV and Onkyo receiver and speakers in my bedroom, I found myself in the market for a new one. When I started looking in Amazon, I was amazed to find that the only ones available were all these tiny little things, about half the size of a receiver. And most ranged in price from $30-$40, or about 25% of what I remember paying the last time I bought one. Initially I took a shot on the Sony DVPSR510, at $39.88. It worked but that's about it. No on screen display (my bad, I should have noticed from the Amazon page) and not even LEDs to indicate what functions it was performing. By the time I realized that this was a significant drawback, it was too late to return it (Bought Oct 30, 2024 - could not return one month and one day later). So I looked for another one, and picked the one that had the largest front panel display, the ELECTCOM PRO ELC-1910, despite the facts that it had a bunch of 1-3 star reviews that were critical of almost everything about the unit, was made in China and who every heard of ELECTCOM anyway?

    The ELECTCOM PRO arrived a two days ago and I used the HDMI port to plug it directly into the TV. The TV is connected via an optical fiber to my sound system. CDs played great, and since the one and only connection is digital, it's not surprising that it sounded great. Today I dug out some DVDs and tried them. They worked great too. One does have to adjust the unit to output 1080p. For some strange reason (perhaps its origin in China) the default is 720p, which makes the image look horrible.

    Many of the reviews complained that it was difficult to set up and use. I do not understand that at all. It is neither. The ones that really worried me were the ones that said it either skipped, or wouldn't load CDs or DVDs, but I haven't found that to be the case. DVD played perfectly from the get go, no skipping or loading problems and the sound was (duh) just like the CDs I played. Full disclosure: I had one "homemade" DVD that I got from my son's school about 10 years ago that the player didn't like very much.

    So this is a great deal for $39.88. But when I looked a moment ago to check on the model to write this review, I saw that the price has decreased $11.19 a few days after I bought it so it now costs $28.79. I am certain that at that price (or even at $39.88) it can't be beat.

    Before buying this player I reviewed all the good and bad reviews. As usual, there were both to be reviewed. I dismissed those from shipping damage and not working out of the box. Then a few complained about the remote or fast forward or fast reverse. Most other reviews were very positive. A couple of the bad reviews in my estimation were due to owner ignorance. (One person complained because it didn't come with two AAA batteries as needed.)
    My DVD player came through shipment in good shape and was packed well by the manufacturer and the shipper. As for the remote, it is no better or no worse then the remote shipped with my Sony Blue Ray player. It is not bullet proof but equal in quality to most remotes shipped with equipment today. The manual is well written which was a surprise. (Not in Pig Latin) Unfortunately, the manual is not totally accurate for the supplied remote. But, even though the control has too many buttons for my satisfaction, it is fairly intuitive. Someone mention they could not forward or reverse the player or stop start from where you left off. This is not true. All these things can be done but for example when you push the stop button it stops but then you must push the start/stop symbol button to start it again from where you left off. This is a different button with just a symbol on it and is not the stop button. If you had pushed the power button and then turned the player on again it would not start from where you were when you turned it off. The bottom line is experience will teach you how to work around the players little quirks. If you watch a DVD in it's entirety, the quarks won't be noticed. I did notice when you boot up the player it may not take you to where you want to be on the DVD. Push the MENU button and it will take you to an area where you can select where you want to be on the DVD. (A series I have contains two TV shows on one disc. The menu button takes me to a page allowing me to select which show I want to watch.) Bye the way, this player is exactly the same size as my small Sony Blue Ray player.) The player has a permanently mounted US AC power cord attached to the player. (No plug in power adapter needed.) The picture quality of the player is good too. I have not noticed quirky jumping around the DVD either. It plays well. So for the money, this is a good choice. I'm glad I purchased it. I needed a player that would allow me to watch DVDs from other REGIONS. (I have an interest in War TV series and War movies from around the world thus requiring a universal region DVD player.) Yes, I would buy it again if needed. I'm a Broadcast Engineer and know a little about what I am talking about. I think most potential buyers of this player will be satisfied with it. You will just have to learn your remotes small quirks. Intuition and trial and error will get you there. It's not a big deal.

    Liked the dr Daniel story & the error correction feature. Arrived 2 days ago & was simple to plug in & connect hdmi cable - it was working in less than 5 minutes. Works great & fast loading & door open/close. Compact & low profile. Remote is light weight & easy to use. Error correction is wonderful. Registered online & received a 3 yr warranty.
    Used to have 3 Sony dvd players which all had problems like: not loading or slow loading, remote making only occasional contact, dvd’s freezing or skipping, door not opening or closing properly.
