    I got this hardware kit to avoid needing to unplug the cigarette lighter power adapter whenever the car is shut off and to facilitate the parking mode feature of my Rove dash cam. My Nissan Rogue has a cigarette lighter that stays powered when the car is off thus running the risk of keeping the camera on and draining the battery. The kit is simple. It has 3 leads: a black ground, a yellow acc lead, and a red, continuous power lead for the camera's parking mode. The acc lead allows the camera to turn on and off with the car. My car has an internal fuse box near the steering wheel that I was able to easily tap into. The kit comes with fuse adapters that allow you to stack your camera fuse in the same slot and a voltage tester to help you identify an always hot battery fuse for the red lead and an acc fuse for the yellow lead. Finding the always hot fuse was easy enough. Finding an acc fuse that turned off immediately when the car is shut off took a little more persistence. Most of the fuses I tried took a little time to shut off after the car shut off. But aside from that, the kit made it very simple to connect everything up. And as with the Rove dash cam, the manual is very well written, informative, and easy to follow.

    Owned the R2-4k for about 6 years and now with a teen driver I decided it was time to put a Rove in her Santa Fe and since the Dual came out I got one for my Tundra, too.

    Installed both yesterday with hardware kits and I must say the kits are brilliantly thought out, packaged, very clear instructions and every single thing you need to connect properly! To say I was thoroughly impressed is an understatement. The Santa Fe was a breeze with the fuse box under the dash. The Tundra was a slightly different story with the fuse box under the hood and having to run the cable through the firewall, but that’s not on Rove.

    Lastly, the Tundra is a bit tricky to install the rear camera since the back window rolls down. I did quite a bit of research and came upon The Dash Cam Store that sells metal brackets designed for the Tundra rear camera mounting. Goes under the weather stripping and works like a charm.

    Just installed this with the 2-4k dual. Installation can be somewhat challenging, depending on your vehicle. I don’t like that the power cord comes with a straight insert. Makes it look cheap. The camera came with a 90, this should come with a 90.

    Say good bye to loose cables on your dash panel, this hard wire kit is amazing and great quality, cheap and affordable. I recommend this one to everyone on the market.

    Straightforward to add into a fuse slot and wire things up. Have had incidents while parked and parking mode seems to work great. Not sure if because the capacitor needs to charge or what, but when you're testing, if it won't turn on START your car's engine. I had everything set up correctly and could not get the camera turn on even when I had both power lines on due to the car being in accessory mode. Finally STARTED the car engine, which pulls the voltage up to ~13v, and after that initial kick everything worked exactly as expected. So just make sure you do that. For a decent ground point, the lower dash cover usually pulls right off enough that you can find a good screw.
