Awesome phone!

We had an older version of this phone for at least 10 years. My mom is 93 and we needed new phones. I was worried about finding a new style of phone and her having to try to figure out how to use it. I was so excited to see that Amazon had this phone and had all the same features of our original Panasonic phones. Very easy to use! Sound quality is amazing, answering machine function is easy to use and holds tons of messages. If you are looking for a great cordless phone-especially for a senior this one is great! And should last a long time since our old Panasonic lasted 10 years! It also announces who is calling!

As a caregiver for my elderly mom, I was constantly worried about her being bombarded by spam calls. We decided to try the Panasonic Cordless Phone with Answering Machine (KX-TGE633M) in Metallic Black, and it's been a game-changer! Here's a detailed breakdown of its features and how they've benefited us:
Pros -
Advanced Call Blocking - This has been the biggest win for us. We were able to easily program the phone to block numbers from our mom's caller ID history, as well as implement Panasonic's built-in call blocking features. This has significantly reduced the number of unwanted calls she receives, giving her much-needed peace of mind. ( any number that calls her phone that is not associated with a person or business is blocked, which are mainly 'robo calls' and are dangerous for elderly because they have a tendency to talk with them vs hanging up immediately and can cause confusion and potentially financial harm )
Bilingual Caller ID - This feature is fantastic. We can easily switch between English and Spanish for caller ID displays, making it easier for my mom to identify incoming calls.
High-Contrast Display- The large, high-contrast display is perfect for seniors. The numbers and text are clear and easy to read, which is a huge improvement over her old phone's tiny screen.
Amplified Handset Volume - The handset volume can be easily adjusted, which is helpful for those with hearing limitations. My mom can now hear calls clearly without any trouble.
Answering Machine with Large Capacity - The answering machine has a generous recording capacity, allowing callers to leave detailed messages. It's also very user-friendly, and my mom can easily access and manage her messages.

We are one of the few people with a landline, mainly for my mom and because we've had the same phone number for like 40 years. Our previous phone was just getting old and more importantly the previous phones did not have block on them, they were old. With all the spam calls and telemarketers these days, a block feature is kind of a necessity. Just a few weeks in and already the phone rings so much less, because we've been blocking those nuisance calls.

I was concerned about the volume, as some folks said the volume was too low. We do not find that to be the case, it's more than loud enough. Even for my mother who refuses to get hearing aids. All the features work as they should, call's get record fine. No complaints so far.

This is my second Panasonic phone set; the first lasted about 25 years! I consider that a reference in itself.
I originally bought Panasonic for its ability to block unwanted calls right from the handset when no other landline phone had this feature. I ended up using many other of its features, especially the alarm. This new updated model has even more extra features. For me the best new feature is holding more blocked calls--
1,000 instead of 150. Hopefully I don't ever have to go through the nuisance process of clearing them all out as often as I had to before. Most important of all, all features are very easy to use.
