My package didn't come with the SIM card adapter, a charging cable, or a card pin. It only comes with the GPS tracking device itself and the instruction manual. The GPS is very difficult to open, I was worried I might break it, but you really just have to force it open. You will have to purchase a SIM card from your preferred phone provider and activate that---which is stated in the instruction manual, but not the seller's listing. While you are not paying this seller a monthly fee, you are going to have to pay your phone company for the additional phone line so that the GPS can have data to track its location and be able to make calls to your phone (optional), if you'd like it to record audio.
I still have not figured out where the micro SD card fits into the device as the instructions are written very poorly and the instructional video does not show them putting in the SD card. It is also important to note that this is not powered on a replaceable battery, you have to charge it. I was waiting so long for all my separate parts to arrive, that I haven't been able to test the charging life on the device. The listing says it could last anywhere from 3-7 days, which I think it a pretty wide gap. At worst, you'll have to take the device out every other day to charge for who knows how long and then hope you remember to put it back before your item or car goes missing. The device cannot charge without the activated SIM card from your phone provider.
So really, for $30 you're getting:
1*GPS Detector shell
1*user manual
You'll pay an extra $3-4 for a SIM card, $15 for a 128gb micro SIM, $25 (depending on your carrier) for an additional phone plan, $5 for a charging cable, and about an hour and half trying to figure out how the thing works.
At this point, I've spent more than double the original listing price of the item and I haven't been able to use it yet. I understand wanting some peace of mind if you've lost something or had something stolen, but I think there are better options out there for less of a hassle. If you're going to pay your phone company extra anyways, you might as well get an easier to use tracker with a monthly subscription.
