5.0 out of 5 stars It's a nice radio enclosure
Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2022
I like that this enclosure allows me to use a single din radio system on my 2022 can am Maverick X3 max RS turbo RR. I installed a marine stereo with 4 marine 6.5 speakers and a 12" Sub box all for about $250. Now the x3 jam's with all the bass you could ever want hands down 10x better then any speaker bar out there.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Unit, Careful with Opening...

I bought this with a marine stereo system. Like other reviews I do see the plastic hinges it has. Which yes, it may break if you abuse it. Take care of it & I don't see it happening. I gave 4 stars for now because the housing looks good and seems to be built good minus the plastic hinges. Maybe Boss will change up and fix that issue. However after 6 months, I will write another review to let everyone know if it lasted. (Freshwater & Saltwater)

5.0 out of 5 stars I can say mine was very good and works perfectly

After reading reviews I was concerned about the quality of the hinge on the door. I can say mine was very good and works perfectly!very pleased. Installed a single DIN Kenwood deck. Opening for deck was very tight but was able to get the mounting sleeve in without tools or sanding as others have stated. Installed in under 30 minutes with no problems. Used a lot over Memorial weekend and love it! Would recommend. Very sturdy and door stays open when you want it too and closes tightly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great update to the boat!
Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2020
I have a 20 year old boat that’s in near-new condition but the audio system was embarrassingly dated and marginally functional. Picked up a Bluetooth streaming stereo but needed a likewise updated sleeve and splash guard to mount it. This did the job perfectly. I had to sand out the dash slot just a little bit to get it to fit but with a little tenacity, it snugged right in. The spring-loaded roll-back door glides smoothly to the open position with the touch of the latch button. The Mrs. even gave it the feng-shui nod! Score one for the fisherman!

3.0 out of 5 stars The good and the quirky
Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2015
For practical use I would give this unit a 4 or maybe 5 stars. For design (most likely in Asia) I would give it a one. Please read, as if you are an novice stereo installer you might hit some bumps with this design. First of all the good: Once modified and installed the housing looks good, feels sturdy and should work quite nicely. I'm a little suspect of the hinged cover, but where mine is installed it will be out of the way of knees and elbows, So, from the beginning, make sure you have some sandpaper or a fine file, as on my unit the face-plate that your DIN mount slides through will probably need modified. It IS a single DIN opening, but the flash from the plastic molding wouldn't allow my chassis to slide in until I sanded it vigorously to widen and square the corners. Once the chassis is in the housing, it's time to connect the back-plate to the wires from the stereo. This does make the unit technically more water resistant, but adds an extra step as you have to connect the wires from the harness of the stereo to the back plate of the housing, then connect it again to power, ground speakers. One really bad design flaw in the back plate is that it does not have a wire for remote connection of an amplifier (typically a blue wire) It does have two sets of pre-outs and all of the other wires. The other bad design flaw, which will catch you if you don't pay attention is that the back plate wire that come out of the housing (and inside) are not industry standard color coded. Most all car stereos have a four color standard with black stripe for the negative. This unit does not. You just have to be careful to write down what speakers you connect to the wire on the back plane. Then, you have to use a dremel of other precise grinding tool to make room to run the remote wire from the receiver to your amp .

That's the good and the bad. It was a bit more work than I anticipated, but really looks good after "fixing it"
