    Founder Michael Pan discovered this snack while visiting his extended family in Malaysia. His family are vegetarian, and he was surprised with the taste and texture of this snack. He knew he had something special to share with the world.

I've tried most of Pan's jerky flavors, I have yet to try the curry. I particularly like the Zesty Thai. I have recently gone vegan, on the advise of my endocrinologists (so not my idea originally), and sometimes crave things from my carnivorous past. In reading other people's reviews, I wonder if people who think this is too chewy have ever had traditional beef jerky(?) For those who think it is too expensive, I originally thought that myself. While no, it's not an inexpensive item, I have recently tried to make some homemade mushroom jerky and that has been illuminating in terms of expense. The volume lost during marinating and the cooking/drying process is tremendous!! For the cost of ingredients plus my time, Pan's is looking way more economical to me.

Unfortunately, like most if not all of you, I decided to buy Pan's after seeing the raving reviews on shark tank. Despite the overwhelmingly negative product reviews, I had a nagging urge to try this becauase who knows... Well after our first bite, both my brother and I had to spit out the jerky because it was so chewy. After trying all four flavors, each one was just as inedible as the next. The original has absolutely no taste. The only one with a bit of flavor is the Zesty Thai, but even that is overshadowed by the chewiness. To make matters worse, the portions are incredibly small for almost $10 a package.

To be perfectly honest, I am guessing the sharks got a specialty made sample batch and general customers are given generic factory line jerky. Given the abundance of negative reviews, it seems Pan's really needs some fine tuning.

I have been enjoying the various flavors in the variety pack. I find them to be very chewy, good quality and fresh. Some of the mushroom pieces are tougher than others, but even with sensitive teeth, I was able to chew them and swallow, enjoying the scent, flavor, and texture of the mushrooms. I enjoy the low calorie, healthy snack I can easily take on the go, but do use with a napkin, as the spices and oil can rub onto my fingers, similar to potato chips or other snacks do.

OK - well I thought my beef jerky at my local supermarket was expensive, until I bought these! I know, I should have read the listing better on Amazon, but I did not...

I bought these because I turn to SharkTank ever so often when I end the news and need something to watch for 30 mins or so... During an episode, they had a 3 minute summary this product and the seller and how much money he had made along with his Shark. The video showed it being manufactured by smiling people in a great place... And, that, is when I saw the (larger) packets of mushroom jerky falling off the end of a conveyer belt. I will say those packages looked WAY bigger than what showed up on my doorstep.

So - buyer beware - these things are tiny.

They are pretty good though. There was no option for me to purchase a 3 pack of three different flavors, so I purchased the Teriyaki. Much more chewy (good) than I thought mushrooms could be. I am not vegan. I love steak, at least once a week. But these were pretty good. Just a terrible value - in my mind.

I was very excited to buy this after trying some that my friend shared with me. She bought at at Costco when the company Pan's came to the Kirkland Costco to showcase the product. Her package was larger. First of all, I didn't realize HOW small the package that was sold on Amazon was compared to my friend's. I got a 3-pack and each pack is 2.2 oz or 62g. I thought it was such a waste of packaging material just to put a few pieces of dried mushroom in.

Secondly, it was almost ALL stems and no caps. That was not the case with the Costco package. I definite had some caps. But from those Amazon small packages, all stems.

In short, I felt cheated for the $ that I paid.

Feedback for Pan's - honest business brings return business. I am not going to buy this again. A mushroom has equal amount of caps and stems, so put a whole mushroom in your products. And you shouldn't showcase something that is different from what you sell in other channels with exactly the same name and packaging.

The taste is not good to me. Tastes kinda like chewy old mushrooms rather than jerky. Also, the amount of protein is much lower, and the carbs much higher than I had hoped.

I wish I could get a lot more at once for a cheaper price. Your product should definitely be advertised & sold specifically for meals too. It could be more than a snack.
