5.0 out of 5 stars So good!

This was delish! My first dish with it was spaghetti. I am impressed! I see other reviews that state the directions seem off for the water ratio but I followed the instructions and there was a small amount of water left after the 5 minutes of hydrating but I just tossed it all into my cast iron pan with a little Miyoko’s butter, basil, garlic, onion powder, nutritional yeast and salt. I cooked it for about 20 or so minutes then added about 1/2 cup of spaghetti sauce to help season it more before adding it to more sauce and the noodles. I will be trying vegan tacos with this next. I will definitely purchase this again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious protein source

This is currently the only protein source I use. There is something about pea protein which is more substantial and less flavor reactive to other ingredients.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad just don't add too much water
Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2023
Good: cooks very fast
Bad: excess water makes it taste very watery

Overall: I've cooked this for six months now. I would use too much water at times but when I used less water I was good.

Cooks within 5 minutes. Don't cook so much at a time.

Hope this helps

5.0 out of 5 stars Akin to ground turkey
Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2024
This stuff is so stinking good. I grew up eating ground turkey much more than beef so it reminds me of childhood. I find it’s got a bite or chew that most vegan meat subs don’t have. It has a much more neutral flavor and can be packed with any type of seasoning you like. I’m going to order more right away.

Adds a wonderful texture to vegan spaghetti and chili. Plus, it’s good for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A repeat purchase

I liked it so much I bought a large box. Easy to hydrate and use. No weird smell or taste. It's very fluffy after hydration, so you will need binders if you are making something solid like burgers. I tend to is it 1:1 with ground meat to reduce our meat consumption.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent bouncy/chewy texture for shelf-stable protein, confusing instructions

The AcreMade Textured Pea Protein, Unflavored Meatless Crumbles, Soy Free, Shelf-Stable, Gluten Free, 21g of Protein, Plant-Based Vegan Meat Substitute Made from Peas, Equivalent to 1.5 Pounds Ground Beef is a wonderful product! The instructions are conflicting - the front sticker says use 3 parts water to 1 part protein, and the back instructions states using 2 cups protein to 1.5 cups water/stock. Reading the reviews, I went with a 1:1 ratio for hydration and was glad I did - there was still excess water after after long soak (10 mins, 5 more minutes than recommended), which I poured off before cooking. Thus, I think the 4 parts protein to 3 parts liquid is probably the correct ratio, though 1:1 with the excess pour off works fine as well. I simply sautéed my first batch in oil with salt, pepper, and soy sauce. The protein sucked up the oil and flavoring liquids so be careful not to use too much oil! The texture is awesome - bouncy and chewy and pretty close to meat but, in my opinion, slightly better (I like veggie meat substitute and real meat as different products). This will be a great option for veggie chilis and stews, and as a ground meat replacement in tacos, etc. I really like it! The sodium is a bit high but that is the price you pay for shelf-stability, and there is 21g of protein per serving! The cost per ounce is $$ for the smaller package, so if you think you'd like this product, go straight for the big bag, which is a much better value. Once the instructions are fixed, I would wholeheartedly give this 5 stars.

Love this textured pea protein! I use it in place of ground meats but also have been enjoying it in sweet dishes in place of oats, such as granola, fruit crumbles, and cookies!
