Understand that I'm a lifelong vegetarian and I grew up eating meat analogs. NONE of them taste like real meat from what my carnivorous relatives tell me, but some actually are good, judged on their own merits. In my estimation, this is one of them. The flavor is not so overpowering that you can't use it in recipes calling for chicken breast. (I've ground it up and combined it with cooked chopped spinach, ricotta, and seasoning as a filling for homemade ravioli, lasagna, manicotti, etc. and my meat-loving friends and family have chowed down and complimented me on the dish and come back for seconds.) And before you carnivores go on the attack, remember that even your favorite fast-food burgers usually contain plant-based protein, because it's less expensive. So, I recommend maybe trying a can or two of this and other meat analogs cooked in your favorite recipes (find a couple friends who want to do the same, and you can share an order).
