    We buy by 24 pack case- packed well and always ready to go for Asian fare, gravies. They are expensive compared to crash, but fresh is often a hassle to get and God forbid you don’t use within a few days.
    Shelf life is 18 months .

    Highly recommend if your a DIY Foodie.

    They are great mushrooms and love the tast but very expensive for what you get. Only reason they are not 5 stars.

    I was searching for shiitake mushrooms and am glad that Polar's shiitake slices in a can are available on Amazon for a reasonable selling price.

    First, I liked the selling price the most. Compared to dried shiitake I found, Polar's canned shiitake were much more within my budget. Second, I like the quality of Polar's shiitake slices. I think the flavor kind of comes from the shiitake itself but I sensed what tasted like seafood too. Altogether I found the flavor fairly agreeable. Next, the shiitake slices themselves while I would have liked them to be larger and thicker, were whole slices and not broken up into small pieces. I think this is good because these shiitake slices have a notably meaty texture, which I liked and are what I think is widely considered to be a distinguishing feature of shiitake mushrooms. Next, shiitake mushrooms are, to my knowledge, very healthy to eat although cooked shiitake may be not quite as healthy as dried shiitake. Regardless, I think the micronutrients in Polar's shiitake slices may just be comparable to dried shiitake or even shiitake mushroom powder. Third I liked that these shiitake slices come in a can as I enjoyed them without the hassle of having to cook them first which you have to do, I think, with fresh shiitake.

    Even though imported from China these mushrooms are rther good, rinse brine ourt before eating.

    Gods arrive ok but after trying a can - I was disappointed. I have used Shitake s for many years. These were not tough or chewy but really had no flavor. I will not buy them again. I can but the same sized can of sliced 'white' for a third of the shitakes and if I marinate them in Teriyaki - they have good flavor

    The mushrooms were delicious HOWEVER what's stated on the label should be in LARGE BOLD PRINT verbatim. THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS LEAD. - GROWN AND PACKED IN CHINA.

    The can may be lead-lined or something... But it doesn't state how these mushrooms are packed with lead yet either way... It's a contaminate and a a deadly metal that causes neurological deficits particularly in children.

    I didn't see the label until after I ingested the mushrooms. Please don't buy these. Demand Amazon not allow anything especially food to be sold with lead or other lethal contaminates.

    ***Note to Amazon*** Please be more weary of what is sold to your customers. Alcohol from Europe or other countries cannot be purchased via Amazon due to ATF (US Government) Regulations yet you bypass the Chinese tariffs or at appear to and allow Chinese products with lead to be sold to unwitting customers. Please do a thorough look-see through products sold via Amazon Prime & Pantry. Thank you. ***
