5.0 out of 5 stars Great AF

I've been buying the sample tasting pack for about a year now and loved all the flavors, so finally decided to go all out and buy two 12-packs. I love these. They are very convenient size. The range of flavors and tastes is very satisfying. They taste very close to the real thing, and it also allows me to try things that I would not normally drink in the alcohol world like whiskey ginger and Cuba libre. If I could only find a dealcoholized Chardonnay that tasted decent life would be perfect!

1.0 out of 5 stars Stick to plain seltzer
Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2024
As I've gotten older, I've learned that alcohol and I do not get along very well. If I had what was normally my limit-2 drinks-when going out, my sleep would be very disturbed. Eventually, even one alcoholic drink would wreak havoc with being well rested.

With the vicious heat this summer is bringing, it seemed worthwhile to try replacing some of my ethanol based summer sips with mocktails. This one-FREE AF Non-Alcoholic Cucumber G&T-was an utter miss.

First, an authentic g & t has NO cucumber in it. Whatever they are using in this to simulate a cuke tastes very unpleasant and artificial. What has always made gin and tonics a refreshing thirst quencher for me is the bitterness of the tonic-the quinine. This has none of that. I keep sipping this as I type the review and what keeps occurring to me is this tastes like 3 day old water from a vase of expiring flowers-only it's stale, slightly carbonated waste water.

While I am aware that it is foolish to expect the same taste experience with a N/A cocktail as one would get from a "fully leaded" drink, this bears no resemblance to any gin and tonic or even a good tonic water (like Fever Tree or Q Tonic) on the rocks. And $40 for what amounts to a 12 pack of bad tasting canned seltzer water? Fool me once, shame on you. I will most certainly NOT be fooled twice by coming back for more of this ersatz crap.

The flavor is spot on, and the cucumber is very refreshing. This drink (and other AF drinks) have helped me reduce alcohol consumption with ease. It's the perfect thing to sip on in the evening. I also love that it's low calorie - though I wish it had a little less sugar.

3.0 out of 5 stars UPDATE Doesn’t taste anything like Aperol - add some bitters
Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2024
I soooo wanted to like these but yuck. They taste like a weird orange soda with a bizarre (and bad) bitter aftertaste. So too sweet and too bitter at the same time. Newsflash aperol doesn’t actual have oranges in it - these taste like orange crush. Even if you if you aren’t pretending it’s an aperol spritz it’s just a terrible drink. Think liquid baby aspirin

    UPDATE
Still doesn’t taste like Aperol but when I added a couple of dashes of bitters it made all the difference. I know - bitters have alcohol but not that much and there are AF bitters. I would buy again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tastes good.

When I use this with vermouth and olives, it approximates the taste of a martini pretty well. I like that it has only 5 calories. I don't like that the recyclable aluminum can is sheathed in plastic, which needs to be peeled off for the can to be recycled. Please consider printing right on the aluminum - the world doesn't need more p!astic!

I really enjoyed this by doctoring it up with some Italian blood orange soda, slices of orange and cocktail cherry!! Woohoo! ????

2.0 out of 5 stars Has sharp edges near the top and only comes with 11 of 12 cans

I like the drink itself (hence why I'm giving it some stars). But tradeoff is that most of the cans have a sharp edge near the top of the can, so it's dangerous to drink it straight out of the can because you can cut yourself.
Also, they ship it with only 11 cans, instead of the 12 it says in the description. (see the picture of the unopened pack)

I really like the AF drinks, just beware - I ordered this weeks ago and it keeps "delaying" the delivery and Amazon won't allow me to cancel it so I'm out $40. Just be prepared to wait.
