Creamy and flavorful with a spicy kick

I love this stuff and drizzle it on nearly everything! I usually make 90% of the things I eat from scratch. It allows me to avoid unnecessary additives (excessive sodium, sugar, calories, chemical preservatives, flavor and texture enhancers, artificial flavors and colors, etc.), it's more economical, it's healthier, and it almost always tastes better. However, the other 10% is for convenience, indulgence, or to save a penny or two. Though this product contains many of the commercially prepared food culprits, the flavors of tomatillos, onions, avocado, chilies and cilantro come together and ring out nicely and more importantly, the nutrition facts don't look bad. I use it on tacos, nachos, tostadas, chicken, burgers, eggs, potatoes, salad, spaghetti - it's ridiculous. I suppose I can't claim 100% homemade if this is on hand because a drizzle (or carafe!) of this enhances pretty much any savory thing I would eat. If you like creamy avocados and spicy heat, but don't feel up to diy... this might just change your life.

Herdez is a great brand and this large sized guacamole salsa is a fantastic value. I use it when I bake chicken thighs and they come out yummy. It's a little spicy but not too much and keeps for a good month in the fridge. I also pour it on tamales and bake them in the oven and they come out delicious.

I have bashed Herdez salsa before in a review as I had a pretty poor opinion of their medium chunky salsa. That being said, this guacamole salsa is quite good with a nice creamy texture and a pleasant kick of spice to it, even to the point of saying "wow that last bite had some good heat". The flavor is very interesting with not a lot of avocado flavor, but it is there. This salsa goes so well with so many different foods and even just eating with tortilla chips is good. I do think this salsa could be thicker as it flows like water almost and does not stay where you put it, but that is about the only slight I can give it. So, 4- and one-half stars really because the flavor is so tasty. I recommend this salsa and I will certainly be buying it again.

Was expecting the consistency and texture to be thicker. Even after giving it a good shake, I felt it was little runny for my taste. Iw as expecting it to be the consistency of a regular tomato slasa. Also, its a bit on the sour side. I little more balance in flavor could be brought toward improvement of the item. And maybe, more avocado?
