    These are a convenient size considering dehydrated lime is so messy & hardware stores were out. The product is excellent but is just dehydrated lime like what you’d get at a hardware store. I have two complaints 1. The price is ridiculous. If you use a lot, your getting reamed. 2. Packaging design horrible. Gusset pack ok, but top of bag seals too high relative to opening which is too small and impossible to slide open & shut meaning you make a mess & waste product costing even more.

    My work around is to shake / tap powder down m cut entire top off inside bowl to catch inevitable spillage. I use what I need, shake off bag, add spillage from bowl and fold $ clues with heavy clip or empty into 1/2 pt Mason.

    If you can get 50 lbs DEHYDRATED lime @ hardware store, get it! It’s very messy but it’s messy one time only. Like diatomaceous earth, you get the bag and distributed among as many containers as you need it stores perfectly. This way when you go to use it, it’s easy to open and any spillage cost nothing. Unfortunately it’s not easy to find in hardware stores at this time.

    I bought this pickling lime to water glass my chicken eggs for long term storage. It works well keeping my eggs fresh. I have stored them for up to two years before eating them. They keep my eggs almost as good as they were fresh.
