Bauducco Foods

The Bauducco story starts back in 1948 when Carlo Bauducco traveled from Italy to Brazil and brought his family’s original Panettone recipe along with a precious piece of mother dough. Four years later, with the help of his wife and son, he opened their first pastry shop in a traditionally Italian neighborhood in São Paulo, Brazil. Bauducco started creating a complete line of products, including wafers, toasts and cookies, which turned the company into the largest baked goods brand in Latin America. Today, Bauducco products are still made with the same care, following the original family recipe. Bauducco is now sold in more that 50 countries and proudly makes the #1 Panettone in America.

I didn't expect the product to be this good. Light, crispy, sweet wafers, but not too sweet. Nice size individual packets in a plastic resealable container. Great price!

    Deliciously Light and Sweet!

I recently tried the Bauducco Mini Wafer Cookies in Vanilla, and they were such a pleasant surprise! These little wafer cookies are light, crispy, and perfectly sweet, with a smooth vanilla cream filling that isn’t overpowering. They’re great for when you want a snack that feels indulgent but not too heavy.

The mini size makes them super convenient for portion control (if you can resist eating the whole bag, that is!). They’re also great for sharing or adding to a dessert spread. The texture is really satisfying - crispy layers that melt in your mouth with every bite.

One thing to note is that the packaging could be a bit more secure to keep the wafers from breaking, but that’s a minor issue. Overall, these are a perfect treat for vanilla lovers and anyone who enjoys a classic, simple snack.

    Would definitely buy again!

    4.0 out of 5 stars They're Decent
Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2024
These are decent. They have a nice form to them and look beautiful. They're not too crumbly or brittle.

I'll start by saying that I received my item in great condition ... No broken wafers, and the packet I received was well in date - Received in March, expiring in October of the same year.

The packaging looks nice. However, I disagree with any packaging that isn't resealable. The packaging for this is a red plastic-like pull tab that rips the entire first layer of wafers back and away, and exposes all the wafers inside. By doing this, the manufacturer is covertly telling you, since there's no way to re-seal it, "I want you to eat ALL of these, right now" which really probably isn't the best for you. I wasn't counting how many came in the packet, but it's at least 16, and I don't know about you, but I can't in good conscience knowingly down 16+ wafers in one sitting. I just need more variety across my taste buds than that... If they put it in re-sealable packaging, my tune would change.

On first glance you think "aw man these are gonna be great..." Then you take a bite and you're like "oh.." The vanilla flavor just isn't that strong, like it is on something like a Nilla Wafer or a PF pirouette cookie. They're 80% bland and 20% vanilla. I'm not saying that I don't like these - but, they could be better. They need a thicker layer of the cream in them. The cream section in these is a fingernails thickness... Really not that much there at all. I split one of these in half and tried to push the spreading of cream back with my thumbnail and it barely moved any material at all. They also leave a slight film on the roof of your mouth, which I didn't notice until the second time I tried them. Like I said, they're decent.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm SHOCKED No One Figured Out this Baking Hack Yet
Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2023
Over 10,000 reviews, yet no one else has figured out this awesome baking hack that you can do with these tasty wafers. Everyone knows how tasty these are. But don't realize there's a secret use for them in your kitchen when baking. So I won't keep it a secret, I'll let you in on the baking hack:

    WAFER COOKIE PIE CRUST.

Put a new spin on a custom crust for your next cheesecake, key lime pie, lemon meringue, or countless other treats that call for a traditional or graham-cracker style pie crust.

    INGREDIENTS:

    1. 9 ounces of vanilla or chocolate wafer cookies*
    2. 4-6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened or melted.

*Bauducco sells a "family size" 9 ounce package, though you can also get two packs of the smaller sizes and just leave a few of the cookie wafers out.

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. Add the cookie wafers and butter in a food processor or suitable blender until fully blended. If needed, use a silicone spatula or similar utensil to scrape the sides of the processor/blender once or twice during this step.

    2. Take this blended mixture and place it on an eight to nine-inch pie plate.

    3. Use your fingers to press the crumbs down into the pie plate so that you have a nice even layer all around.

    OPTIONAL STEP:

    4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the pie plate with your-pressed in crust inside, and bake for ten minutes. Remove from oven, and let it cool completely before adding your filling (whether it's something you need to continue baking, or adding a filling is the final step).

You don't have to do step #4. But doing that step will make for firmer, slightly harder crust that won't break apart too easily (a plus if you plan on adding a no-bake cheesecake filling).

This works well with both the vanilla wafer cookies, and obviously works great with the chocolate ones. But for myself, I simply enjoy experimenting with different types of pies I can use this crust with. And then enjoy getting compliments when guests try a slice of pie or cheesecake, and are pleasantly surprised by the crust. They NEVER guess how you made it, and it's up to you if you want to share the little secret.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good and unexpected

Love the brand. This cookie/wafer is soft and its size is tiny. Has at least 10 pieces per pack. Good for toddlers. I mentioned unexpected because my taste is for crunchy wafers not soft (buttery). Great deal for the price. 3 star because not the texture I expected. Dull flavor on both sides vanilla and chocolate. My son (3rd grader) loves the vanilla over the chocolate. As well the texture. Half and half vote.
  • It came with a hole in one of the letters and was not able to deflate the rest to pack it up and return it. Had to order another one!

Love these wafers and the mini packs keep me from eating all at once. They arrived fresh and not stale unlike some of the other cookies/treats I’ve purchased on Amazon.
