Native Forest Organic Coconut Milk
America's First Canned Organic Coconut Milk
The Native Forest brand was born in 1999 with the introduction of America’s first canned Organic Hearts of Palm. Unlike most conventional alternatives, the harvesting system of Native Forest Organic Hearts of Palm supports the preservation of native South American rain forests.
Native Forest Organic Coconut Milk (America’s first) is pressed from the nutmeat of mature organic coconuts. It features full-bodied coconut taste with a smooth and creamy texture. Organic coconuts tend to be a little smaller than their conventionally grown cousins, while the organic coconut trees are sturdier and more drought resistant.

Top reviews from the United States

Added plus: I’m actually allergic to guar gum and was SUPER excited this didn’t have any! It’s been impossible to find it without.
////EDIT:///
I ordered a batch and it was delivered yesterday. It will not solidify. It’s completely liquid, still creamy. Even after refrigeration. So I drained it over cheese cloth and got a super creamy yogurt like consistency which is actually better for my needs.
My theory is that some batches include more coconut oil than other batches thus the reason for some being more solid. I don’t believe this is a quality control issue but more when the coconuts were harvested and at what temp as more oil was allowed to get into some batches when the weather is warmer. Just proves to me that it is indeed organic without fillers.

I'll talk about my experience first, and then at the end I'll summarize the reviews from other people who also found this probably had guar gum.

MY EXPERIENCE
first positive thing I'll note is that the coconut cream separated from the water when it was in a cold environment for several days (the house got cold, around 40 degrees fahrenheit). For this reason, perhaps there was no guar gum/additive.
However, let me describe what happened that caused a sensitive reaction from me. I had two cans of this stuff. I tried this coconut milk over two days.
The first day, I had broccoli, Thai Kitchen red curry, this coconut milk, and salmon. A few hours later, I had the reaction where I slept for 3.5 hours only a couple hours after eating. This NEVER happens. It's always always something wrong with what I ate.
The second day, I reduced the variables. I ONLY had this coconut milk and some 96% fat meat. A few hours later, 3.5 hours AGAIN.

DUE DILIGENCE FROM READING THE REVIEWS
I learned a valuable lesson. I will ALWAYS look at the reviews and pay careful attention to anybody who claimed this had an allergy.
The most important thing to takeaway is that there were NO "allergic" reviews of good brand like Thai Kitchen Unsweetened Coconut Milk. NONE of the reviews talked about guar gum allergy reaction. Meanwhile, there's like 7 reviews for Nature Forest saying an ALLERGIC reaction to guar gum. This should tell you there is something seriously wrong with Nature Forest if Thai Kitchen is able to have ZERO negative reviews pertaining to an allergy.
Next, comparing the number of reviews. Thai Kitchen had WAY more reviews than Native Forest. Specifically Thai Kitchen's "2 simple ingredient" brand had 1624 reviews, while Native Forest's Simple Flavor had 3377 reviews! So both brands had large number of reviews. One brand had a few reviewers complaining about the guar gum allergy, while the other brand was totally clean. Hm! Something's really wrong with Native Forest!
Next, click on 1-star reviews for both brands and search for "guar". Thai Kitchen turned up only ONE result, and it was not about a guar allergy. Native Forest turned up NINETEEN results (for both their Classic and Simple brands), but TEN results for their Simple brand. Reminder that their Simple brand is claimed to have no guar, while the Classic brand has guar. I should really quote those reviews in full here for guar allergic people. I'll just state the headlines though: they are chilling and scary by themselves. I really wish I read the reviews!!!!!!
* Additive / guar gum warning. `Does not behave like other 'no guar gum' coconut milks. Definitely has some sort of emulsifier.`
* Has guar gum or some other additive - does not separate when cold. `I am highly skeptical of this product not having guar gum as it claims`
* I really believe this has guar gum or some other emulsifier in it
Here's a link for people who want to do more research. Hopefully it'll still work by the time you're reading this: https://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B011LVDECM/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_paging_btm_prev_1?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=one_star&reviewerType=all_reviews&pageNumber=1&filterByKeyword=guar#reviews-filter-bar
This one's for Thai Kitchen: https://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B07ZW8WFP6/ref=acr_dpx_hist_1?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=one_star&reviewerType=all_reviews#reviews-filter-bar
Conclusion: at least I learned how to do due diligence on a product, even if it says it claims to NOT have an ingredient. Always read the reviews, and check for any reviews from people sensitive/allergic to the ingredient!!!
