About this item

Our Smoky Trio: For those who go wild for delicious, responsibly-sourced smoked tinned fish, this three-pack bundle is the answer to every fish lover’s prayers.
Smoked Atlantic Salmon: Our salmon is sourced directly from Kvarøy Arctic and smoked in small batches over a mix of beech, maple, and birch wood, hand-packed, and canned by fifth-generation family-run cannery on the central coast of Washington.
Smoked Rainbow Trout: Raised in pure Idaho spring water, our trout is sourced from the only ASC-certified trout farm in America and smoked in small batches over natural hardwood, canned in BPA-NI & BPA-Free tins by a First Nations-owned carry on the coast of British Columbia.
Slow Smoked Mackerel with Chili Flakes: Hand-cut, sweetcured, and slowly smoked over natural wood, our mackerel is then hand-packed and infused in-house with crush chilis and garlic for a savory, rich flavor with a bite of heat.
Who We Are: Fishwife is a woman-founded and led food company aiming to make ethically sourced, premium, and delicious tinned seafood a staple in every cupboard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny Name. Fantastic Flavors.

This was a big hit! Bought the three pack (smoked trout, mackerel, salmon) for camp snacking at Joshua Tree National Park. We had other dips and a Trader Joe's canned trout to accompany and compare. The hands down winner was the Fish Wife Smoked Salmon. People took pictures of the box so they would know what to order. The next favorite was the Fish Wife Smoked Trout, and then the mackerel. Trader Joe's trout was described as bland in comparison. Our group thought the Fish Wife product had the right balance of flavors without the fish or smoke being overpowering. Everyone was surprised that the smoked mackerel was less fishy than expected, and frankly, that was my biggest concern about buying the three pack. It might seem pricey but you could easily make two sandwiches from each tin or serve it as an appetizer as we had it. There were seven of us, by the way. I know tinned fish is big in some countries like Spain and I'm excited that we're finally getting high quality products that give us some variety over fresh fish or crummy canned tuna or sardines. This is tasty food!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this brand! Quick and easy lunch

Excited to find this on Amazon, I've been able to get it already from whole foods, but was excited to order online vs. having to go into the store. My whole family loves eating this and my favorite is making a quick lunch with this over rice and some furikake seasoning and a cucumber salad. Highly recommend!

3.0 out of 5 stars I don't get why there has to be added sugar
Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2024
It tastes fine, clean but I was kind of taken aback by how sweet it was and how salty and smoky it wasn't.
I've had plenty of canned/tinned fish and none of the ones I've eaten in the past have had sugar added. I don't really get why there's added sugar. To me, it was way too sweet (which was weird) and not salty or smoky enough. Probably won't buy again, especially with the price. I prefer the Bar Harbor brand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for gifts, not so much for repeat buying

First off, I'd say overall I think this is a good product. The packaging looks great and the product inside is well made. This is canned fish and I think this is about as good as canned fish can be. That being said, I don't think it's worth the price. This product is 12-13x more expensive than a cheap can of tuna. It is almost 3x as expensive as a premium albacore can of tuna. If I was looking to stop buying that and instead buy this, I can't justify the cost. It's not that much better. This is too expensive in my opinion to be a regular part of your grocery list.

If we're talking about gift giving, I think this is a great choice. The packaging looks great and fits well as a premium "Now's my time to splurge on someone." type of gift. If you know of someone outdoorsy, a foodie, etc that would like fancy canned fish, this is a good gift.

Fishwife is our favorite tinned fish brand. The packaging alone is enough to get us excited about our meal or snack, but the taste and quality always exceed our expectations. You won’t be disappointed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what we had hoped for.

Saw this on Shark Tank. Husband and I thought we should give it a try. Well, have to say, we were disappointed. Of the sampler pack, the Salmon was just okay, but the trout and the tuna were way too tough and chewy. All three soaked in oil. We wanted to like it, but we did not. Sorry Fishwife!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Taste
Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2024
I am all about empowering women! After watching the Shark Tank presentation and how Kevin O’Leary devoured his samples (AND his expression of annoyance when he realized the presenter only wanted women Sharks), I had to make the purchase. I must confess I do NOT purchase meat or seafood in a can – it’s almost like sinning. My grandfather was a Fisherman from Sicily – I think his spirit is angry with me. I purchased the Fishwife Smoky Trio 3-Pack for $39. (Thank you for speeding up the delivery date.) I poured myself a tall, chilled glass of champagne and dived into the smoked salmon. My taste buds were immediately assaulted by the taste of tin, salt, and a heavy oil. I instantly realized what I pulled out of that can was nowhere near what Mr. O’Leary ate on set. Reading through other reviews, I may try to sprinkle the other stuff on a salad or just leave it on the shelf as a reminder not to fall for the hype of a shrewd presenter.

This is the best fish I have ever eaten, canned or fresh. Made with love throughout the entire process from catch to cut to cook to can. They did not cut any corners. Expensive yes but these days what isnt?
