Used to rapid age some brandy. 400grams of these chips used in rapid aging technique in a quart jar for a few hours is amazing.

Received as advised with out any issue.
I used them for red wine making.
The oak chips to me are very strong. I would experiment with them first before final placement into your product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Used to age moonshine

I am a whiskey fan but whiskey can get pretty pricey so I am always looking for ways to make cheaper bottles of whiskey - like moonshine - taste like whiskey that has been aged for a long time in oak barrels. So, I decided to do some experimenting and see how something like adding oak chips to clear whiskey would improve the flavor. You can see the result in my before and after photos. I blanked out the distiller name for obvious reasons. The main idea is to show what a big change happens in a clear bottle of whiskey when you add a tablespoon of toasted oak chips and let it sit for a couple weeks. The flavor is much improved - of course it won't taste like whiskey that has been aged for years in oak barrels, but the flavor is greatly improved so that you can be sipping your cheap whiskey sooner than later without making an "argh" face in the process. I am currently trying this method in some white rum and cheap brandy to see how the flavors are affected. But, for white lightning types of moonshine, it definitely enhances the flavor very quickly.

Superior product as always from this brand. The flavor is amazing with only one shot glass full of oak chips per half gallon it’s easy to age and not over oak. The value is ridiculous when you compare to buying barrels, used staves, spirals or cubes.

I added some of these chips to make homemade Tobasco sauce. The flavor these wood chips have imparted is quality. Would recommend.
