I have ordered four separate gallon buckets of malic acid at different times from Earthborn Elements since 2019, without having any serious problems previously. This time, the malic acid arrived with a strong chemical odor, and the malic acid itself was off-color.
The malic acid is completely unusable, and since I only opened the sealed bucket five days after the return window closed, I am now out almost fifty dollars without recourse.
Just to be clear, the package arrived without any damage that could have caused the contamination, the bucket was stored only with other food grade materials, none of which could cause the contamination, and the bucket was also tightly sealed in a way that required removing the bottom strip from the lid to even get it open. It was packed this way.
Malic acid isn't the only thing that I have ordered from Earthborn Elements, but I will clearly have to avoid ordering from them in future.
