    Tastes just like country ham! Comes in 3 ounce packages, enough meat for 5 flaky biscuits. Enough drippings for a little red eye gravy. Cost is a little more than I’d like, but it is worth it.

    I soaked it over night . I took it to the meat laundry. The quality is very very good however the level of saltiness is not for the armature. I'm sure there are techniques and recipes for this product just know it is extremely salty.

    I love this style of ham. I fell in love with it while working in Virginia. It's not available when I live, so I was excited when I was able to purchase online here

    I was so hopeful when I ordered this country ham. Being on the west coast you can’t find it. I've literally ordered some from Virginia and waited days for it to arrive. So seeing this in individual packages and with 24 hour shipping I was thrilled. I even planned an entire “breakfast for dinner “ menu to celebrate . First of all a few of the packages look suspicious with a slimy product inside. Second the two packs I did try were so tough and hard I couldn’t even bite into them. I tried soaking them for about an hour, that didn’t work. I tried sautéing each individual piece…that just made them worse. My dogs were begging for a bite…even they didn’t like it. I’m very disappointed and am now having “breakfast for dinner “ with store bought sliced ham. Not what we were looking forward to AT ALL!
    (PS in fairness I tried to contact the seller but I couldn’t find a way to do so. But being non returnable for obvious reasons it probably wouldn’t have mattered)

    The Daniel Boone inn got me addicted to him biscuits when I was a small child and this ham is exactly like it used to be in the old days. It is salty so if you don't like that you need to soak it for a while first. My daughter was concerned because it was so hot outside when it was delivered but I reminded her that it's salt cured so it's okay to sit outside for a little bit. It did not upset my stomach at all. Of course I trim off the fat after I cook it to make it a little leaner. Absolutely delicious, I'm so grateful!
