5.0 out of 5 stars Not Spam, but not bad
Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2024
A bit expensive for what it is , but it is imported so you’re paying for that. The flavor is less strong than Spam but it’s not bad at all and can stand a little seasoning to your particular taste. An easy thing to add into sandwiches, stews, soups, whatever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Chicken salad & chickpea green curry
Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2024
I made chicken salad as I would have done years ago, with (vegan) mayo, celery, onion, dijon, salt and pepper. I made the mistake of fully draining and pressing this chicken but try to keep some of the liquid because there's a lot of flavor in that. I put the chicken salad in a Lavash wrap with lettuce and tomato, it was delicious. Tonight I was making a hello fresh meal that a neighbor gifted me, a chickpea and zucchini green curry over jasmine rice and decided to use a can of this chicken and it's juices in the recipe, replacing the 1/4 cup water and it was really delicious. I've ordered another 12 pack on Amazon and will keep it in my pantry to make sandwiches and add to meals. The cost here on Amazon is pretty good.
The whole can is about 160 calories, it's supposed to be 3.5 servings, the sodium for the whole can is 42%. Considering that many canned foods are really high in sodium, if you were to break this into two meals it would be 21% of your daily sodium and just about 80 calories per meal. I don't think that's unreasonable, especially if you're only using this here and there.
The ingredient list isn't terrible, this uses palm olein instead of palm or other oils which is a fractionated variety of palm oil and heart healthy. Besides the small amount of xantham gum, the rest of the ingredients are just wheat and soy protein, sugar, and seasonings.
The picture here is of the cold meal that I took out of the fridge and was using for my next day's lunch. I wish I had taken a picture of the actual dinner itself because warmed it was actually a beautiful looking dish and a very tasty curry.

1.0 out of 5 stars Onion tasting wam not spam
Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2023
I received my order yesterday. I got up this morning to prepare it for breakfast and to my surprise this is the nastiest vegan product I’ve ever taste. I want my money back.It could have at least had a similar taste to spam instead it taste like onions. The texture is not like meat it’s tuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tastes to us like Spam
Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2024
I ordered one can to try it. It arrived in good shape in a timely manner. My husband and I really liked the flavor as it reminded us of how Spam tasted when we weren’t vegetarians. We think it is a good substitute. However, my husband ordered five more cans from a different vendor and every one of the cans were severely dented and, to us, not useable. The box they came in was undamaged so we have to believe that damaged cans were put in the box.

4.0 out of 5 stars Coming from a meat-eater
Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2023
Texturally, this product is almost spot-on. It has the firm, homogenous, and meaty consistency that a normal block of spam would have. If anything, it might be a little too dense.

Taste-wise, it's not quite there. It's maybe 60-70% of the way there, but it simply isn't meat. It doesn't have the saltiness and cured flavors that spam has, but it has a nice sweetness and smokiness. If your goal is to eat it as part of a recipe (e.g. musubi, carbonara, etc.), then this will work perfectly fine. Crisp it up, sauce it up, whatever.

For $7, it's a nice treat for those that don't eat meat.

4.0 out of 5 stars Needs some help, but not bad!
Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2024
I sliced it, fried it in avocado oil and added some kosher salt. It wasn’t an exact replica but did taste surprisingly similar and the texture was not bad. Is this really a healthy option? No. It is slightly healthier than actual Spam but that isn’t saying much. This is good for an occasional treat to satisfy a craving.
