This is a good product that has a naturally good shelf life. The color of the freeze dried powder is a highly saturated deep pink. I used the powder first to make a chocolate truffle only to realize the powder is too lightly flavored to make a good impact when mixed with chocolate. I tried fresh dragon fruit shortly after to remind myself what it tastes like and the it's not the powders fault, the natural fruit has a soft, sweet watery taste. Now I use powder for it's color and sprinkle it on top of wet chocolate as a beautiful garnish.

I usually use the Wilderness Poets brand dragonfruit powder so that's what I'm familiar with. This one, in contrast, is a much finer powder and has a somewhat blander flavor, but this was more affordable. I miss the very strong sweetness of the Wilderness Poets brand. This one is still sweet but in a more subdued way. But it otherwise is fine and is still a gorgeous hot pink and seems acceptable. Dragonfruit powder is an essential component in the Liver Rescue smoothie from the Medical Medium and a lovely healthy part of my mornings. Thank you.

If you want to make smoothies or desserts, this is PERFECT. Only note is that it DOESNT work as a color or taste enhancer for baked goods.
