I’m ready to perform a second transfer to a secondary carboy. I failed to read all the instructions and account for all the ingredients. Other kits added the flavoring oak chips in the second step. Realized at second step, no instructions for oak chips - in any instructions. Finally read instructions on back of oak chips package - add in step 1! Well I’m in step 2.1 hoping the late added chips are flavor absorbed by the clearing Wine. Tonight I transfer for final settlement before transfer to kegs. Would have been nice to get specific instructions or at least a note saying “read the instructions on the back of all ingredient packages”.

Great tasting wine kit

So I’ve made wine using a kit similar to this before, just reds but this time I wanted to try a white. The instructions are straight forward and with the cooler climate took about an extra week to ferment. The flavor of this batch was great and matched similar wine that I normally buy from the store. The only thing is the wood stir in pack wasn’t part of the direction sheet so I totally missed out on using the wood additive for flavor, but next time I’ll try it.

This Chianti takes one to two years to mature. So I’ll get back to you in 2026. But I can tell you the box has everything you need except equipment. I’ve made the Fontana Pinot Noire and it is fantastic! The instructions are easy to follow and easy to use. I plan to make every type this brand offers! Then I’ll join AA ????????
