Edamame Toast
SAVORY ITALIAN
  • Pesto
  • Cherry or grape tomatoes
  • Radish slices
  • Pine nuts
  • Basil leaves
  • Balsamic vinegar
SWEET STRAWBERRY

  • Strawberries
  • Walnuts
  • Chia seeds
  • Mint leaves
  • Sprouts
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Cracked black pepper

EDAMAME TOFU TOAST

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 package Mori-Nu Edamame Flavored Silken Tofu, Firm (refrigerate remaining tofu)
  • Choice of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sauces, and spices (see recommendations right)

PREPARATION:

  1. Toast bread to preference.
  2. With a fork, smash and spread tofu onto each slice of toast, dividing the tofu evenly between the 2 slices.
  3. On one slice, layer the ingredients from the SAVORY ITALIAN list.
  4. On the other slice, layer the ingredients from the SWEET STRAWBERRY list.
  5. Serve immediately with a fork and knife!

SWEET GARLIC WASABI DRESSING

STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE

MOCHA MOUSSE

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2-1/2 cups Mori-Nu Silken Tofu - Firm, mashed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 Tbsp. freeze-dried instant coffee granules
  • 1 tsp. orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

PREPARATION:

Put all ingredients into a food processor; blend until very smooth and creamy. Spoon about 1/3 cup of the mixture into 6 small individual dessert cups. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

SWEET GARLIC WASABI DRESSING

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 package Mori-Nu Silken Tofu – Soft
  • 2 Tbsp. soy mayonnaise
  • 2 small garlic cloves
  • 1 Tbsp. agave nectar
  • 1 Tbsp. onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. wasabi powder
  • 1 tsp. Himalayan salt

PREPARATION:

Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 package Mori-Nu Silken Tofu – Soft, Lite Firm, Firm, or Organic
  • 1 small ripe banana
  • 1 10 oz. package frozen, sweetened strawberries, partially thawed, including liquid
  • 1 tsp of sugar (optional)

PREPARATION:

In a blender or food processor, combine all ingredients. Whip until smooth. Serve chilled.

This is a wonderful product! I love it. It's an awesome dairy alternative.
These are a couple of dairy free desserts I made with this product, peach mango parfait, cinnamon vanilla delight, and I have also made other desserts, and sauces, I made a mushroom Alfredo sauce.

I love using this product, it just makes cooking so much easier.

Smooth and creamy. Tofu picks up other flavors so there's really nothing to rate there. I bought this on sale so it was a good price.

The product is exactly what it says it is: Tofu, in a shelf-stable container. Every package, every time is always the same - fresh, neutral-tasting, silken (no matter any claims of firmness, these mori-nu vacuum packs are all the smooth, highly refined silken style tofu), and convenient.
The fact that this is Lite Tofu is just a plus - protein with less fat than the already minimal amounts in regular Tofu? win.
Keep the case in my office for adding much needed nutrition to the boring ole ramen. Great stuff.

Like some other reviewers, I was skeptical, but ordered based on the reviews here. I was even more skeptical when I opened the box and saw that it was "lite" tofu (I still don't know what that means, exactly). The stuff even looks bad as you slide it out of the box.

However, it is a fantastic tofu product. It is smoother than any tofu I've bought from the grocery store, and I have used it in soups, stir fry, wraps, and plain. This will be the only tofu I buy from now on. If you like silky tofu, you will like this product.

In addition to being awesomely tasty, it keeps unrefrigerated in my pantry. From experience, I know it keeps at least five days in the fridge once opened.

12 packages arrived timely, but the expiration date on all the boxes is July 26, 2022. Not good where you plan to put on the pantry shelves. The last batch I ordered has an October 2022 expiration and I still have a few of those. I"m guessing just a mistake - or not - but, I am now learning these are not eligible for return. Even with a near expiration date. So, poor rating - not because I do not like the product, but because I was sent old merchandise and I cannot return.

I eat tofu almost every day to help a digestive condition, so this is a great way to order it in bulk. This particular sub-brand is lower calorie than most tofus, comes in a shelf stable package, and generally remains intact in its rectangle shape outside the packaging for slicing or cubing. it is more gel-like than some full calorie tofus I've had, so it's rather bland to eat plain. Nonetheless, it blends well with spices and sauces. I normally steam it. Due to its gel-like structure, I don't think it would hold up well in frying.
