    If you are concerned about your dog not under control, the item allays that concern. We use it with a training (prong) collar that can sometimes come loose. The backup is connected to the base of the leash and the dog's flat (normal) collar. When the training collar unexpectedly opened, the dog was still under control. Just what we wanted.

    Added: The above is accurate, but we since learned that it was too long for a small dog and would hang by the front leg. Occasionally, the dog's leg went through the loop causing a minor problem. The construction of this leash is first rate. The variety of vibrant colors matched our main leashes. They looked great. If it came in a shorter version (e.g. about 4"), we'd consider buying it.

    Arrived on time. Construction appears to be good. Length is 9" as indicated in the product description, it is not adjustable.

    For that price this product is not worth it, it already snapped open twice on my walks, can't be trusted to keep my puppy safe.

    One thing I don’t appreciate is that I pay $16 and change for this product and then when I tried to re-order it it had gone up to $25. That’s a very high price point jump then I tried another time and it was $50 that’s insane.

    An important addition to your dogs lead if you are using a training collar. Training collars can and do come apart and this ensures your pet remains connected to you and the lead.

    This product was exactly what I was looking for: an extra layer of security just in case my dog ever slipped out of his collar. Loved the heavy-duty braiding of the rope, and it never got in the way of my dog’s leash / collar. I had been using it daily for almost a month now, but today my dog and I returned from a walk only to realize that the entire attachment was missing! That means both clasps must have come undone and fallen off at some point during our walk. A good concept, but not sure about the long term quality on this one.
