    Skin looks better, easier to say no to my addictive snack foods, sleep better. Got on doctor recommendation that would help with rumination and anxiety and yes, it has! Nutricost is a great price while still a good product. The smell hasn't bothered me. Take with food. Highly recommend!

    So this is my first time using this kind of supplement. Never even heard of it, but after doing some research it says that it'll help with pcos and other uterus issues. I take this along with myo-inositol. So far the 2 are working nicely together. I've been on both for 3 weeks-ish now and definitely can feel a difference with my mood and energy. It's nothing drastic, but better than me dragging butt. Not sure 100% which one did it, but it did cause my period to come 6 days early and it was heavy. Like i bled like someone turned on a faucet, but it only lasted 2 days, which is my norm. So be advised that it might make you start earlier than you expected.

    In terms of the product (not the vitamin itself), I find that this is well packaged and is great value for money. As others have said, there is a smell. However, this is not secreted when sweating so you won't smell like it. Besides, the smell is not that bad so just swallow it quickly.

    Now for the nerds. On the science front, I like to use this product due to its scientifically backed benefits (and promising applications). Below are some examples.

    For Acne. In a single-blind placebo study (human trial), NAC caused a 50% reduction in total lesion counts in acne patients after supplementing 1200 mg/day orally for 8 weeks.

    For alcohol consumption. Pretreatment (30 minutes) of NAC in rodents given alcohol appears to reduce liver damage while giving NAC after alcohol (four hours) may aggravate the damage induced by alcohol.
    One other study assessing mitochondrial structure of liver tissue in alcoholic rodents found that administration of NAC seemed to prevent the hormetic response to alcohol while not necessarily preventing other forms of damage to mitochondria; this observation occurred alongside the standard reduction in oxidative damage.

    For Nicotine Addiction. In one study, subjects addicted to nicotine given 2,400mg N-acetylcysteine for four weeks relative to placebo, supplementation tended to reduce the frequency of cigarettes smoked after two weeks of supplementation.

    I’ve been taking NAC for awhile now and bought this brand because of price. It seems to work, but it does have a very strong odor. I leave the cap off most of the time because then the odor isn’t as strong.
