It has a pleasant scent and goes on without leaving a greasy residue. It stops the itching right away. The cooling effect is amazing and feels really good. The effectiveness is such that it's a good while before you have to reapply it.

Unfortunately, our 13-year-old chinchilla has recently left. My arms broken out in rashes and red itchy blotches. Of course I have to hold our baby. But using this gel after holding her really helps to take away the itch and red blotches. It clears it up fairly quickly. It has definitely prevented me from lots and lots of itching!

This gel does work. I was attacked by mosquitoes and had about 30 bites on the backs of my legs. I didn’t want to scratch and cause scarring, so I used this product in conjunction with Cortisone 10. It does work, however you need to let your skin breathe for a good few minutes to let the gel dry down fully. I made the mistake of putting on leggings before the product was completely dry and the gel just stuck to my pants instead of my skin. I found that I needed to reapply this every 3 hours or so. When using at night, I had to get up and fully cover the bites again with gel to stop from scratching. If used religiously (about 5 days for me), it will ease the itchies and stop you from scratching insect bites. Happy to report I only developed a few tiny scabs from a couple of the bites and can’t see any scars. I do prefer this gel formulation over the Cortisone 10 cream. Once the gel dries, you can’t tell there’s anything on your skin. The cream left my skin feeling kind of greasy and it rubs off on your clothes. The Amazon price is comparable to what I paid at Tar-jay for the first tube I used. Make sure to apply liberally over the affected area to get the best results!

At first, I was just looking for a cream that would treat/improve bug bites (maybe something like Cortizone?). It's been a few years since I badly needed something similar but when I started a position at work where I only work outside at night, turns out my legs are a super delicious meal for the mosquitos and even though I could kill 50 mosquitos a night, they keep returning and I can't stop them all. Once they get my legs, the itching is neverending. It gets so bad, my co-workers and manager even feel itchy looking at me itch myself.

I DIDN'T KNOW HOW MUCH I NEEDED THIS ITCH CREAM UNTIL I PURCHASED IT.

I've been using it for two months so far and oh my goth, it's INSTANT relief. On top of that, it's an easy-to-apply clear gel that dries up within a few minutes so I don't have to continue exposing my skin, for fear of the gel clinging to my clothes when I roll the sleeves down.

I also recently went to an outside festival and ended up getting a slight sunburn, which hardly ever occurs for me. The sunburn didn't hurt at first, since it appears more like a tan, but then I started slightly itching it until the scratching increased and it started feeling like a burning, stinging, itchy sensation. Since I hardly receive sunburns, I couldn't think of anything at home that would help (If I don't own sunscreen, I probably wouldn't have anything to help sunburns either). This itch cream immediately went to mind and once I put it on, the burning/stinging/itchy sensation instantly disappeared.

A cooling, instant-relieving product that dries up quickly and is fairly inexpensive? HECK YEAH I'LL BUY THIS AGAIN!

The only CON I have with this product is the squirt function/container. Unlike other general tubes where the cream is squeezed out, this Benadryl Anti-Itch Cream LEAKS out the tube when you open it. So if the tube/container is upright or if the cap is not securely snapped shut, the gel drips out of the tube/container like a leaking faucet so it's a little annoying to put on certain hard-to-reach areas because I have to lather it on my hands first before I can apply it to someplace like my back.

Otherwise, I'm very happy with this product.

It worked fine, I would say just as good as most over the counter itch creams. The ‘cooling effect’ was its best feature. If your itchy skin is also making you feel warm or hot like a sunburn or if it is just warm like summer camping with bug bites the cooling effect of the gel is really nice and soothing.

However, if you put on a layer of this it eventually drys (unless you wipe or rub it off first) and they it creates a thin layer like dry dead skin or dryer glue that can be peeled, washed or rubbed off. Clearly rubbing itchy skin isn’t a good idea so I would recommend carefully peeling it off or washing it. If you were a messy kid who got Elmer’s on your skin an let it dry it peels off almost just like that it’s more clear than white though.

The first time I thought my skin was peeling but it became clear it was totally the product. It isn’t pretty though so if you are going out I wouldn’t put it on your face or other visible skin.

Also the review question asks if it’s moisturizing. Which it’s not. It’s a gel not a cream so I wasn’t really expecting moisturizing but if you were looking for that it’s not. It’s not drying really either just a gel that sits on top of the skin, feels nice and cool makes things less itchy and then comes off like flakes of dried glue.
