I have suffered from frequent headaches for years, and I have tried all kinds of remedies to alleviate the pain. I don't always like to take OTC medication and recently, a friend recommended this migraine stick essential oil roll-on, so I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, it has been incredibly effective in relieving my headaches. The first thing I noticed when I applied the oil to my temples was the refreshing and cooling sensation it gave me. It was like a breath of fresh air that immediately soothed my tense and throbbing head. The scent of peppermint is also very invigorating and energizing, which helped me stay alert and focused throughout the day. What I love about this essential oil is that it is 100% natural and safe to use, and helps limit the use of the OTC meds. Overall, I highly recommend Peppermint Essential Oil to anyone who suffers from headaches or migraines. It is an affordable, easy-to-use, and effective solution that has made a huge difference for me.

A coworker who uses Migrastil for her migraines loaned it to me one day when I had a headache, and I was pretty surprised by how well it worked! I ordered my own roll-in that night and have kept it in my purse ever since. It’s not a magic product, it’s essentially just peppermint oil, which you could probably buy cheaper in bulk and make your own. But it lasts a long time, and at $11 I find it very affordable. It doesn’t really “eliminate” pain the way an NSAID or acetaminophen does - it’s more akin to Salonpas or IcyHot, using the tingling sensation of the peppermint to “distract” you from the pain. Allegedly the slight irritation of the skin also encourages blood flow to the area where it’s applied, having some additional benefit on relieving pain, but I’m a bit skeptical of that claim (although I may simply be unaware of the science supporting it). In any case, I find that it does wear off after about 15-20 minutes and needs to be reapplied for continued relief.

I use it on my temples for headaches and on my neck and shoulders for aches and stiffness there. The size and roll-on applicator make this super convenient to carry around in my purse, and much cleaner, more convenient, and with less of an offensive smell - in my opinion - than Salonpas, IcyHot or Tigerbalm (all of which I also use on occasion). Having said that, it does smell strongly of peppermint, so would not be for anyone who dislikes that aroma. I’ve had my first bottle for at least 6 months now and have a fair amount left, but will definitely be repurchasing when I run out! A simple, safe and natural solution for everyday aches and pains.

Lately because of the stress of the pandemic, because of high blood pressure, because of irregular eating patterns, because of irregular sleeping, because of lack of exercise, whatever it is, maybe even caffeine withdrawal, I’ve been getting headaches. They aren’t like the serious migraines I got when I was younger but I do notice that if I use this scent stick immediately when I start getting a headache it goes away. The pain just goes away. Very odd. Not sure I understand why it works, actually But it smells amazing and it is in my go-to pile of things to use whenever I’m feeling like a headache is coming on. I don’t know if this would work for a full blown migraine, but this definitely seems to do the trick for headaches. I appreciate that I’m no longer taking Tylenol or Advil, I have even given up gabapentin. I only use natural remedies now because for the most part if you use them correctly and frequently enough and are very assertive about prevention, they really work. I am glad i found this scent stick, just wish it came in a larger quantity. It’s very expensive for a small quantity. I use it without stinginess, and not only on my temples but the smell is so good I put it on my neck, my cheeks, and behind my ears as well as sometimes on my wrists so i can smell it while i am waving my hands around working. I don’t use it often but when I do I use it liberally so maybe I go through it faster. I would still buy it again because it’s worth it but I’d buy it much more frequently and I would give it as gifts, if it came in a larger size or was more affordable.

It is simple, and small, making it a convenient remedy for migraines/headaches. Although the tingle of the mint feels cooling and nice, at times it bothers my eyes. I am undecided as far as how well this product actually works to relieve headaches or migraines. I felt some relief with one use, but no relief with another, so it is hard to say. I guess I would say it doesn’t necessarily offer complete or instant relief (which I expected) but perhaps partial. I would like to say it may help with other symptoms of migraine, like nausea, but at the time I didn’t think that far into it. I’ll keep trying it and try to consider other aspects of migraine relief. The cool minty-ness is strong, so that can be relaxing though.

I will start this by saying, I am not one to try herbal remedies of any kind. However, this had good reviews and my husband is always looking for eucalyptus smelling scents. The first time I tried this, both my husband and I tested it in a car ride, both fully expecting it not to work. We put it on our foreheads as directed and went about the car ride. 5-10 mins later I realized my (very bad) headache was much better. Out of no where, I said, 'So does your head feel...' and my husband blurted, 'Better?? Yes!!' We were both shocked. I ended up giving mine to my mom for a trip she was taking and bought another one. I've since used it a few more times and it does not get rid of a headache but definitely lightens the pressure.

Honestly, I didn’t have high hopes. I am a swear by Excedrin and goody powders kind of person. But I wanted to try something new that wouldn’t cause my stomach harm in the future. I was shocked to find that this worked so good.
The only downside to it is That when you turn your head, the fumes will burn your eyes slightly. I think it’s worth it though.
