    This accupressure mat is a gem !
    It truly works as described.
    Not only is the ache released,
    But it is healthy at ALL times,
    To be implemented regularly.
    Yes,
    It takes a moment to adjust to the physical sensation;
    Once that is accepted,
    It actually is interesting & feels good.
    The mattress & pillow covers remove simply for washing.
    The unit folds nicely to store in a small space.
    It is lightweight;
    Easily portable.
    The colour of the covering is solid black.
    It is a great value for the money.

    Update March 2020: My love of Spikeo (affectionate name for this inanimate object) is known through all my friends, and over time many have tried it. At least 4 of my friends who have tried mine ending up buying one. Even people who think it looks terrifying have found it remarkably soothing. One thing: About a year into my relationship with Spikeo I bought another one to live at my parent’s house for when I have longer visits over the holidays. The new one was SO sharp — turns out that with daily use, the spikes get slightly dull over time. Eventually I felt like my original wasn’t packing the same punch, so bought a new one for myself about 18 months after the original purchase. My new one is gray, which is actually quite pretty and a little less garish. I would advise everyone to get new spikes every couple years or so if you want that signature OUCH with your pain relief.

    I have fibromyalgia and have spent hundreds of dollars on various pain remedies throughout the years. Most things haven't really helped, including physical therapy -- the only thing that would provide relief was Tylenol and scalding hot showers. This mat appears to be invented by a sadist and it definitely HURTS, but with regular use my pain has become much, much better. It also helps relieve pain when it happens, but I've found it to be more useful in reducing pain generally rather than addressing a particular pain spot.

    My best evidence of its effectiveness is that I get extremely thirsty after massages and the same thing happens when I lie on the mat for 20-40 minutes. I don't know what the thirst means (a quick Google says something about the lymphatic system?) but I take it as a sign that this mat actually does something for my knotted-up muscles.

    I love the mat so much that I made the following meme. I hope it helps in your decision on whether to purchase this.

    I love that this works. It's sharp and it hurts at first but once you are laid fully on it, it is AMAZING! I can feel my blood circulating throughout my body and I feel so good afterwards. I fall asleep on it but I feel great when I wake up. The pillow is the BEST!! I feel energized in the days after using it. I love to stand on it because it relieves so much pressure from my feet, although it is agonizing at first but once passed, you'll love the feeling.

    My 76yo mom had siatica on the back of her leg, laid on it for 30min - 1 hr and the next day it was gone. She used it again and was able to withstand for 1.5hrs.

    I love how quality this set is. As a longtime acupressure mat/pillow user, who uses their mat/pillow every single day for the past 10+ years, I'm impressed with this set. The spikes are quality made and are strong, the adhesive used to glue them in place is strong and resists my "heavy" use of the mat and pillow. I even rub myself against both as a form of dry brushing or meridian brushing/fascia brushing. Helps me with my (undiagnosed) fibromyalgia--the reason I don't have the diagnosis is because I brush myself against this mat regularly, it eliminates my nerve and muscular pain. It treats my sciatica with no medications or physical therapy.

    Additionally, it helps with my insomnia, stress and anxiety, and even helps me feel better after a long night out.

    When I put the pillow behind my neck and shift my head from side to side, it treats my migraines and headaches.

    I cannot recommend this product enough. Well worth the price. Possibly the best investment I've made in my self care routine in my entire life. Literally cant live without this thing. I also just love the grey on black color combo. Its amazing. Get one and gift one to all your loved ones!!

    It is really sharp and feel like your bleeding. So not really for me, but others like it. When I get up off of it I feel super itchy. Really easy to pick up and take with you though
