I guess I had expected this video otoscope to be not much better than a toy. Not so! This is a very high quality instrument for the price. Excellent picture quality, easy to use but you’d better know what you’re looking at so that you don’t go scraping thru your tympanic membrane with some of the cerumen removal tools that are included. The whole package is high quality.

I at first bought another type. The one you need an app and WiFi and couldn’t connect it so I bought this instead. Easy peasy. Just make sure you read the instructions. You have to connect the camera before turning machine on. ITS HARD. IT TAKES PRACTICE! But…. Once you twirl it gently around and move the scoopers in the right direction and go slow. It is interesting. Just be careful. I made my ear canal bleed because it’s like looking in a mirror and trying to braid your hair. It confuses your brain. So just take your time. I got the best view with the black doctor kinda thing they use at the doctors office. It pushes all your ear hair out of the way. So start with that and see what’s going on in your ear. Just make sure you snap it on really good. I had it pop off on the way out of my ear canal. Only 4 stars because of price. But you can take videos and pictures. Pretty cool. I had a chunk of wax sitting at my ear drum and that’s what was bothering me. No app,phone or WiFi needed.

My kid and I had a great time watching each other’s ears. Great product. Ive bought a cheap one in the past and it was useless (too dark) but this one is bright and clear image.

Mom of 4 here. This otoscope is currently one of my favorite things. If you are reading this, I probably don’t need to convince you of the utility of owning an otoscope, so I’ll focus on what’s great about this particular one.

I’ve owned 2 other otoscopes in the past 10yrs: 1) ~$50 OTC version that’s similar to what you see in the doctor’s office, 2) camera that attaches to your cell phone. The standard style otoscope was ok- not great resolution, but I used it regularly (until kid #4 dropped and broke it) because it was simple, took no fiddling, no finding dongles for the phone, no installing of sketchy, glitchy Chinese apps that require access to every aspect of your cell phone…

I spent the extra $$ to purchase MS450 otoscope with the dedicated screen to avoid the hassles and security concerns of the phone-based setup and I’m glad I did! This mom is impressed!

Advantages of this otoscope:
Image quality is frankly fantastic
Adjustable brightness
Zoom in/out
Save images to SD card (haven’t tried)

The kids LOVE being able to hold the screen and watch while I check out their ears, throats, noses — interested kids = cooperative kids = happy mom. While I haven’t needed to yet, I am envisioning the utility of being able to show/share images a part of a telemedicine appointment.

picture is clear and amazing. you can see what is in there and all very well. those cleaning scrapers are not so great; when trying to use them you cannot see what they are scraping. better to just use very warm water, q-tips or some mild peroxide water mixture or ear drops and flushing. then check your progress. but being able to see what has been done is well worth the money

American distributor on hardcopy documentation: scopearound.com = $65.99 + shipping
-- buyers may want to consider where they buy this product
2) images viewed on unit display look sharp; images; on PC with Photos app look very grainy, poor
quality even after cleaning camera lens
3) hardcopy manuals skimpy
-- example: for accessories list/picture see Amazon website, not the manuals !
4) per manual, should have been able to use provided Type C USB cable to connect unit to PC for image
uploading, did not work
-- using provided cable with wall charger, power button flashes Red if unit off
-- if unit on (usable), power button alternates Red and Blue
using supplemental purchased Type C USB Cable for charging & data transfer, able to upload
images to PC without problem
-- conclusion: defective USB cable came with unit

Very well packaged and built, user friendly.
The Instructions on the other hand need a lot to be desired.
Like when is the unit fully charged or how do you control the brightness of the leds on the tip of the camera.
Red LED blinking Charging or defective battery? Perhaps these are issues not bothered with the younger generations, but for the older folks well written instructions are of necessity.
