I ordered this to use as a rubber spacer between an aluminum deck plate on the steel framerails of my semi truck, just like the factory does. Aluminum and steel don't mix well and need a spacer to prevent corrosion and this worked perfectly. Exactly as described. Plyable yet strong and doesn't tare but is easily cut with razor knife. The is some smell of rubber, but hey, it's rubber and rubber smells. Comes sealed in air tight package that is pretty tough plastic as I couGld not open it with my hands and had to use a razor knife. Glad I found it as the truck dealers I contacted don't carry this in stock. Will work perfect for my need.

Excellent material. Yes it does smell like tires. Get over it....and it's tough- very tough. Cuts easily for my tool box drawers. No clanging bang or rust and paint chips in my tool box are a thing of the past.

Stinks Almost Like Skunk

The product arrived without any physical damage or cosmetic imperfections.

Like every human, robot, dog/cat who has already mentioned it in the review section, it stinks, and not in a normal way. Here is a tip for future purchasers: open the package and let it breath somewhere for at least two weeks. Last case scenario, spray it with ̶h̶o̶l̶y̶ ̶w̶a̶t̶e̶r̶ isopropyl alcohol (70% if you don't want to weak the structure of applied adhesive/double-sided tape) after you installed it in a desired place.

Now, let's get back to the serious tone of the review.
The material is robust, flexible and good for sound/shock absorption. I have tested it on the door to my room with a 1-1.5 mm double-sided tape and not only the sound from outside decreased, but the room's temperature has increased. There are still some touchups left to do to completely mute the sound from the outside and inside, but the rubber Neoprene does its job alright.

Keeps my vinyl Chess mat from sliding around!

This is a great rubber backing to use on vinyl Chess mats. It not only lessens the thumping sound of pieces landing on the mat, but also keeps the mat from moving accidentally when sliding the pieces. And, although it’s a little stiffer, it is still easy to roll up for storage or travel. It would have been prefect if they made this material in the size of 24” x 24” x 1/16" square, but using this 12” x 48” x 1/16" works as well.

After cutting it in half, I attached the two rubber backings to the back of my vinyl Chess mat as shown using Flex Shot Silicone Rubber and a plastic spatula to spread it around evenly. Then, I allowed the rubber sealant to cure for a full 24 hours where I then used an X-Acto knife to trim the excess rubber at the edges of the mat. Clean up is a little bit of work, but produces great results afterward.

Sealed an Engine Hood on Our Forklift

I installed this rubber strip on the door that encloses the engine compartment of our rough terrain forklift. It is one of those doors that goes over the engine compartment and lifts from horizontal to vertical in order to access the engine. When closed, there was a 1/2" gap between the door (or hood if you prefer) and the chassis. I used self tapping screws and went through the rubber into the hood and secured it into place. I did this 6 weeks ago and barely a drop of rain gets through now.

This is good rubber that is not either too soft nor too hard. It is just the right consistency at 1/8" for the job it was intended. This is a good product and I would buy it again.

Will not lay flat on it's on.

I ordered the 12" X 24" roll, I did not measure it to see if it was true dimensions because it was bigger than what I needed.
I wanted to use it as a "backer" for a lightweight project that I am working on. I could not get this stuff to lay flat even after using a heat gun on it.
If you are putting something heavy on it then you should not have any problems, it is plenty durable.
I read reviews complaining of the smell but I did not really notice (perhaps due to other things that were going on in my workshop).
If you are wanting something that is for lightweight (less than 2lbs.) projects you should probably look elsewhere or plan on using a very strong adhesive.
It is a really good product, just not for this project. I am trying to make a custom mousepad.

I used this to seal the inside of my shed doors and installed with a 90-degree bend. Initially it worked great, no more leaks through the doors (hinge side) during rainstorms. Now the rubber is separating at the fold and is allowing water to seep in. Other applications where it is flat it will probably be stellar.
Above was my original review, since then, without any further communication on my part the seller reached out and offered a FULL REFUND! Amazing customer service, most other sellers just move on, these people actually care about their customers! 5+ stars for stellar customer service. although this product did not work in my application, i have others that I will purchase more for from them!
