Quality: The strain relief, electrical feedthroughs are water tight and well constructed. The body, lock-nut and sealing-nut are made of durable nylon. The two gaskets are made of rubber.

Functionality: The strain relief fits through a standard 1/2" hub electrical gang box and secured with a rubber gasket and nylon lock-nut. The wire feedthrough has a clever design that constricts a rubber gasket as the sealing-nut is tightened.

Longevity: Unknown at this time. Longterm, direct sunlight and ozone exposure may degrade the nylon and rubber.

The NPT 1/2" unit fits a wire with an outside diameter of 6 to 12.5mm (0.236 to 0.492 inch). In my case, I had a wire with an O.D. of slightly less than 6mm and needed to wrap the wire with several turns of friction tape. For about $10 you receive 10 feedthroughs, which is a good deal in my opinion.

I used these glands for low voltage wire leaving an exterior work box. Two pairs of 16 gauge low voltage wire fit through the opening. The self-sealing design works well (though I did use a dab of silicone to ensure water resistance).

IP68 UL Listed Nylon Cord Grip Waterproof NPT Cable Glands Asst 20pcs Cable Strain Relief 1/4", 3/8'', 1/2'', 3/4'', 1'', grey: Superb fit & finish. Solid high-quality item, far superior to commonly used rubber grommets. I like how tightening the unit closes the 'iris' (just like a Stargate) around the cable. The 1" worked especially well on my new kitchen range hood installation where the hood had a sharp edged metal hole for the AC cord. Highly Recommended.
