About this item

[Upgraded TOMLOV DM9 Pro Digital Microscope] - 1920*1080P resolution TOMLOV Digital Microscope, 178° super wide viewing angle, advanced IPS glossy screen, a high-definition output monitor, true-to-life color visual experience, no splash screen & stuck. 7-inch HD IPS screen suitable for circuit board soldering, watch/clock repair, plant observation, jewelry appraisal, and error coin identification.
[Good for Entire Coin View] - TOMLOV DM9 Pro coin microscope equips an 8.5-inch longer metal bracket, which can show a coin in full view. In addition, the aluminum bracket and base provide extra durability and stability. This is a great tool for inspection/documentation of coin collection.
[10-1200X Magnification] - TOMLOV DM9 Pro soldering microscope features 16MP photo resolution, which brings excellent image quality. With magnifications ranging from 10x to 1200x, you can get even finer details. The maximum 1200 zoom allows you to observe the tiny parts. Note the magnification is controlled by the distance between the lens and object.
[HDMI & USB Output for Larger View] - This HDMI digital microscope not only can be used as a stand-alone microscope, but also can directly transmit 1080P HD real-time view to TV monitors or projectors through HDMI cables, and equipped with a USB port to connect Windows and macOS computers. Allow you to enjoy larger HD real-time view, smooth and clear.
[8 LEDS+2 Side Lights] - Except the built-in 8 adjustable LED lights around Len, this coin magnifier is also attached with 2 additional gooseneck lights. Both upper and lower lights can be dimmed and charged independently to provide more excellent detail and optimal clarity in various environments and allow to capture picture or video in some dark places. Provides sufficient light, allowing you to observe the clearest details of objects in various environments.
[Convenient Controller] - The controller is an essential tool for not interfering with the digital microscope with screen when taking photos or videos, perfectly avoiding screen shake, it can not only directly control the microscope to take pictures or videos, but also can zoom in and zoom out, making it easier to take pictures and adjust settings.
[Wide Application] - For electronics hobbyists, this soldering microscope is helping to identify SMD components and precision soldering. For watch repair, it will work very well for oiling and diagnosing issues. Using TOMLOV microscope to do some "backyard science" with kids, and view various rocks & minerals, plants, and other items.

5.0 out of 5 stars Portable Microscope Providing Great Magnification at a reasonable price. Would Buy Again.

I’ve been using the microscope for about 1.5 months now and quite pleased with my purchase. The scope arrived well packaged and requires a little assembly. You’ll want to have an adjustable wrench on hand but no other tools are required. The collar that the Vertical Support sits in has a bolt to secure the support in place and you won’t be able to loosen/tighten it by hand.

When the scope is first turned on it comes up on video mode which has a slightly lower magnification level than the camera mode. You’ll notice the difference immediately when switching between the two modes. Overall, operation is simple and easy. I mostly use the scope in camera mode to examine coins but other uses are only limited to your imagination. Note that the scope assembly can be used without the mounting assembly, just takes a steady hand to keep it in focus.

Pros:
Small, light-weight, good magnification, portable (can be used in the field), has an HDMI connection to display the image on your PC screen, 32Gb micro SD card included, includes remote control.
Cons:
No micro SD card adapter (my PC won’t accept the small micro card), no way to attach the remote to the camera body for storage (see Improvement suggestions below).

Improvements:
I added a cardboard ‘compartment’ to the underside of the platform. This allows me to slide the remove into the opening and avoids losing the remote. See pics.
Not really an improvement but a way to squeeze a little more magnification out of the lens. The lowest downward vertical travel of the camera is limited by the vertical support bottoming out in its holder. By placing the object to observe on a raised platform (say a book at least 1/8 inch thick), you can lower the camera body closer to the object and still be able to focus. Removing the lens shield you can get even closer but be careful not to allow the lens to touch the object or you’ll damage the lens.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent little microscope! No major complaints.

I bought this as I already do small soldering projects and other small projects where I need to magnify things significantly. I have an older very expensive Bausch & Lomb stereo microscope but I have to shove my face against it just right and it's very awkward, needless to say. That and an LED-lit magnifying glass but that's a fixed magnification and not enough to do some of the really small stuff. With this unit, there's a nice display - and if I need a bigger display I can hook up a larger monitor to it via HDMI (even includes the cable!) Records video and stills to the included SD micro card as well. Heck, it even includes a remote so you don't disturb the unit trying to take a picture or video! The display itself is nice and clear, the extra little lights help plenty but the camera is pretty good about adjusting to brightness on its own. Focus is super easy to do and gets plenty clear enough for me to do my work. Geared riser works excellent and can give you an overall big picture or get down pretty close. Very helpful for soldering small surface mount electronics or working on watches. Runs off USB (doesn't include an AC adapter but I bought myself an extension cord/surge protector that has some USB outlets on it so I don't need a wall wart.)

The ONLY complaint I have (and it's extremely minor) is the bolt used to tighten the geared riser is extremely tough (without a wrench.) I designed and 3D printed a simple knurled knob that gives you enough leverage to tighten/loosen the bolt without a wrench. That way I don't have to go run and dig in my toolbox for a wrench just to adjust it (if even necessary.)

I will say that the base where the lights are has it's own battery, so you'll have to charge that separately (again, cable included at least!) but it's something you'll need to be aware of when using it.

Best part is, I was able to show my 9 year old how to solder and he took to it like a pro after watching me do it on the microscope.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect microscope for viewing and taking photos of coins
Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2024
The microscope clearly exceeded my expectations. It is easy to use, sturdy and the pictures are very focused and sharp. I like the fact that you can adjust the lighting to get the perfect photo. The magnification adjustment is also very quick and easy to maneuver. I'm very pleased with this product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works as Designed

If used for smaller work pieces, this works perfectly. I picked it up for SMD applications and find myself running into space constrictions with larger boards. Will likely see if I can't figure out a modification for the base, or replace it entirely.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great digital microscope for Model Railroad work
Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2024
I ordered this TOMLOV digital microscope after seeing a similar but less expensive one in a competitor's catalog. This one has a larger screen (7" vs. 4.3"), longer post mounting bracket (10" vs. 5") and it has HDMI output so it's easy to connect to a computer or TV set. It also includes a 32 Mb micro SD card for storing the photo or video recorded. It even includes the two USBC charging cords for the microscope and base lights and an HDMI cable. My only complaint is that they didn't include a 2-slot USB charging adaptor that has to be purchased separately. I was able to use my cell phone charger sequentially to charge each of the two components and ordered a 6-slot USB multi-charger for future use. Still, with Amazon's $20 off coupon, this microscope only cost me about $15 more than the much lower capacity and quality competitor's microscope.
