5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive! Vibrant! My new Red

You know how it often goes, it's hard to get a good color that really stands up to use? I just took this off the plate and gave it the bare bones cleanup, thinking all the while that WOW, this is RED- exactly what I'd been looking for! Nice plastic spool, fits my AMS fine, material flowed very nicely and I'm looking forward to what kind of pieces I can put this to use with next. Geeetech is impressing me with this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best printing PETGs I have purchased.
Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2024
This PETG prints beautifully. I have purchased many brands and I usually stick to American manufacturers but I needed something quickly and this was overnight shipping. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this PETG printed better than many of the rolls I buy domestically.

The width is incredibly consistent, shockinglybsibfir the price, which made filament calibration very easy. No blobbing or bare spots from thick or thin sections of filament.

It also produces hardly any stringing after retraction calibration. I have PLAs that string more than this stuff. I blows my mind that they have such a well mixed plastic with such consistent width at this price point.

Unfortunately my roll must have had a bad start during spooling because I kept having the end piece of filament sliding under the nearby filament as the spool turned which caused a tangle no matter how many times I cut and restarted. I asked the company if they had any ideas for fixing this so it would stop sliding under and they apologized profusely and sent me another roll entirely. Just genuinely so happy to find such a high quality plastic with great customer service behind it that is so affordable and available to me overnight. I don't make reviews at all really but I thought the company deserved some recognition and praise.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Inexpensive Filament
Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2023
Purchased grey and a red roll on sale for 16 per roll so I could make 3D printing components for a printer that'll be in my hot garage. Wasn't sure what to expect. Have tried printing with 3 or 4 other PETG Filaments, this being the cheapest one. This prints exactly like the $24 per roll one.

Pros:
+ CHEAP (added to rating)
+ Prints like some of the more expensive filaments. - literally stuck the filament in and used default settings. No tuning needed. (added to rating)
+ Almost no stringing (added to rating)

Cons:
- Not a cardboard spool (took half star) - Cardboard is just a more eco-friendly option.
- First roll was tangled (took half star) - not a super big deal because it's an easy problem to fix. But could have led to a bad print failure if it wasnt caught early, especially on my long 9 hr prints I was doing.

Other thoughts: I've been printing since 2014, so I'm not stranger to modifying settings in order to make things work better. I did not have to modify anything from what I had set in my prusa slicer settings to make this work. It's nice to have things be plug and play. As far as the tangle goes, I've only seen this straight outta the box on three different occasions in the entire time I've been printing. This was one of them, and price of the filament doesn't seem to be a factor.

My print setup:

Custom built printer UM2 style printer
Titan extruder
V6 hotend
235c hotend
75c bed
60mms internal print speed
30mms external print sleed
200mms travel speed
80mms retract speed - fast I know, any slower leaves way more retraction artifacts
5mm retract - alot I know, but I use a Bowden with a long tube
30-50% fan - I found it mandatory to use fan with this and other petg to help with overhangs
1400 mms² accel
3000 mms² travel accel

FLSun QQs Pro
235c hotend
75c bed
V6 hotend, not V5
Titan extruder
60mms internal print speed

40mms retract speed

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME RUBBER-LIKE TPU!!!!!
Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2024
TPU is my new favorite thing to print with. My kiddos love the soft and semi-squishy toys. You do need to print SLOOWWWW and HOT but the results are pretty cool. I am going to use this to make some ghosts for Halloween in a couple months. Also making some video game stands for a Gameboy, Gameboy Advanced, and PS VIta - it is soft so it wont scratch and holds them securely!
I bought the blue, it looks amazing, I printed a duck already and seems to bond well!

My first time using TPU. I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of videos on how to print with TPU.I had no problems some stringing but it was minor. Printing on an Anycubic Kobra 2 at speeds of 60mm. Works great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality Control
Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2024
It is rare that I post a bad review for filament from Geeetech as I have used many of their other filaments (PLA, PLA+, PETG, etc.) however as some other users have mentioned, the quality control from the manufacturer is quite poor as you can see from the image. Specifically, much of the first 1/4 of the roll has kinks, bends, and I even saw what looked like a knot. Since this is my first time using TPU, I thought this to be normal, but after having to spot upwards of 10 prints because of the filament getting jammed in my dual gear extruder (direct drive) as well as having to dissasemble my hotend to clear a few cogs, I started doing some research and found that this is not normal for a roll of TPU.

It's worth noting that I tried many, many different configurations to get my prints to stop jamming such as slicer settings and even physically adjusting the gearing grip of the extruder itself, but was not able to get anything to fix the jams. Eventually I just unspooled about 1/3 of the roll to get down to what looked to be straighter filament. And even then, I had to babysit the printer to fix jams as they happened.

In the end I dried the filament for 12 hours, vacuum sealed it, and stored it away as I just don't feel like anything I do will fix the problem. Shame that I can't return it for a refund since much of the filament had to be thrown out because of the poor quality control.
