I was surprised by how thick the tape was. This is a great value for the price. Some tape doesn’t tear well or is flimsy, but this one tears nicely and is strong. Excellent quality!

I tape boxes up every day. I've used many tape brands and I've left reviews for many of them here on Amazon.

Positives:
Incredible price per yard. Probably the best deal you will find for clear packaging tape.
2.7 mil thickness gives you more confidence when packing boxes
Good adhesion to cardboard (read below for a tip on how to use tape better)
Crystal clear tape make it good for covering labels (to waterproof them).

Negatives:
Tape is stinky. You will smell it in your room.
When using a tape gun the tape comes off loud (if you aren't using a tape gun, invest in one! best invention ever!)
When pulling tape off the tape gun it pulls in a choppy manner which can create these faint lines on the tape (this phenomena relates to the loudness of the tape. They go hand-in-hand).

I'd give this tape a 5 star rating based on performance. It's ability to stick and its 2.7 mil for the money spent? 5 stars! But what knocks it down is the stink and loudness and potential for lines to appear on the tape. If these things don't matter to you then buy this tape. The price per yard is really good!

There is only one clear tape that I've ever used that gets a perfect 5 star rating. I'm not an employee of their company, I have no affiliation. They simply make the best tape on the market. It's Duck's HP260 tape. The reason is that it has no negatives other than its price. The price is a bit higher but it has no stink, no noise at all coming off the tape gun, and therefore leaves no lines in the tape when pulling it off the tape gun. It is also 3.2 mil thickness, which gives you even more confidence when packing boxes. Especially those with some weight to them. I don't know what adhesive substance they use, but its like no other tape company has figured out how to recreate it. Not even a brand like Scotch has an equivalent.

I've read a lot of tape reviews and a lot of reviewers leave reviews stating: "This tape doesn't stick to my box". I often chuckle when I read these reviews because its obvious this person doesn't know how to use tape properly. It's not rocket science, but I'm starting to think tape companies should include a manual with their tape since people don't understand this simple principle. If you want tape to stick to your cardboard box, you ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take a blunt object and press it into the tape and go back and forth to seal the tape into the box. Start doing it slow to get the hang of it. If you do it too fast you might leave streaks in the tape or bubbles. If you have a tape gun you simply use the handle to press into the tape while its on the box. That's your "blunt object" you use. Voila! You've learned a pro technique. If you were to try and remove the tape now from the cardboard, it should rip a layer of cardboard straight off. That's how well bonded it is now.

Use this for taping boxes for moving and packages to mail. Of course, like all of these tapes, it will gum up scissor blades. But this is better than some tapes I have used in the past, it seems to be thicker. Good clear color, not yellowish as some packaging tapes seem to be. It is Very sticky.

Great tape!! I ran out and used another brand. Within 24 hours the tape literally peeled off of a cardboard box by itself. Having a boxed gift that has to travel about 1500 miles through USPS, I could in no way trust that other brand. I came right back here to order more of the King brand tape, because for the money, it can't be beat, PERIOD. Good thickness, great adhesive, and is crystal clear for "laminating" over mailing labels.

Absolutely love this tape! We have never had any issues with it other than occasionally it has a strong smell but that has only happened like twice in the last three years of ordering this tape for our business and it was only one roll out of the 6. It is a wonderful medium duty tape that you can always depend on! Adheres to boxes and envelopes very well with a great texture and substance that isn’t too thick or too thin. We even used it for a very large boxes with heavy weight shipping internationally without any complaint. Very reasonable price considering so many variables between competing companies and qualities, and the quality is always the same, never had anything different shipped to us, which is all too common on Amazon even when ordering prime....especially because there are so many counterfeiters out there. Not to mention the fact that Amazon charges their sellers money to protect their trademark to brands... but that’s a whole other story...lol... Amazon is definitely all about the customer and not the seller for sure and it is increasingly becoming more geared toward Chinese sellers and sellers who offer other peoples products under varying names which makes it really hard to trust anybody these days especially Amazon itself. But this seller is awesome and dependable! Make sure you only purchase this item when it comes from Tape King specifically. I have never been paid or asked for a review nor do I review anything very often, but I wanted to make sure that credit was given to this company, which is most certainly deserved! We used to sell on Amazon and have a business that depends on tape for many things daily and I understand how difficult it is to find a good product and how much we all depend on honest customer reviews.
