The quality was great. I got this as a gift for a outdoor enthusiast, and they had an easy time using it. It was easy to put together and incredibly light unlike others they've had in the past.

It worked really well for its purpose and was a great bargain buy!

3.0 out of 5 stars if you just like looking at random stars use the money for nice binoculars

like the title says, i just like looking up at the stars. I'm not an astrology major or anything so i don't give a rats patoot about headings/coordinates or other astrology jingoisms. I'm used to using a $35 dollar pair of 12x25 binoculars. I get better looks from using those than i do with this telescope.

again, im no astrologist so i see i big ole thing like this and naturally think it might launch me into the stratosphere compared to my dinky binoculars, but nay, it does not. That being said, i perused the reviews looking for something along the lines of what my interest is, and didn't see anything, just positive reviews so i bought it. maybe it works better when you buy a whole bunch of different doo-dads and knick-nacks to go along with it, but i didn't buy this so i could then buy a bunch of doo-dads and knick-nacks to go along with it.

i will say it does give some impressive views of the moon. Not enough to be able to spot that delicious moon cheese or even moon pies on the surface though. Also, not visible is the alien-operated soul-recyling center, or the alien bases inside the glass domes, but i digress; i wasn't expecting those to be visible anyhoo as they are believed to be on the dark side where china is sending a rover to collect samples from.

If you sometimes at night look up at sky and say "what the hell goin on up there?! Do UFO live on other planet, phonin' home like ET?" i would advise you to use the money you would spend on this telescope and instead put it towards the purchase of a nice pair of binoculars. leave the telescope to the astrology folks.
