It is a great gift not only for kids but for adults too. My son loves it. He goes to gaze at the stars at every opportunity he has.

3.0 out of 5 stars Confusing for 150X and it's only 300 millimeters for focus length
Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2023
This telescope, like many others, boasts a variety of features. It's crucial to examine it closely. However, there is a notable discrepancy in its specifications. The focal length is only 300 millimeters, yet it is labeled as 150X, leading to confusion. Typically, telescopes explicitly state their focal length rather than relying on magnification values like 150X. Within the same price range, there are alternatives with superior focal lengths, ranging between 400 and 500 millimeters. Opting for one of these alternatives would enable better clarity and larger images during observations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for me and Kiddo

I got this for me and my science loving four year old. He’s so excited about it that it was hard to get space to put it together. The instructions were very easy to read and it’s easy to assemble. It’s been years since I’ve used a telescope, but we were able to get it pointed at Jupiter and focus on one of the stripes tonight. Tomorrow, if it’s clear, we’re going to try the higher powered lenses and see if we can get a better image. I’m still figuring out the phone holder, but I think that’s going to be a massive perk once we get it figured out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for a first

This is a great beginner telescope. At first it looks overwhelming, but once you put it together and learn what the pieces are, it's quite simple to navigate. It's nice that it comes with extra options for lenses. The only thing I dislike is the tripod. The telescope is heavier than the tripod, making it top-heavy, so the slightest bump can send it falling over.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lot of bang for the buck

Bought this for the grandkids and they love it. Assembly of the telescope out of the box was pretty straightforward (with a little parental help). The kit includes 3 eyepieces (20mm, 12mm and 6mm), and 3X and 1.5X Barlow lenses, This allows for magnification from roughly 15x to 150x. The telescope has an adaptor to allow photography through the telescope using a smart phone with a camera. The tripod is adjustable for users of different heights. Pro tip: download an app that makes it easy to identify celestial objects visible in the night sky in any given location--and where exactly they can be found. While certainly not a professional instrument it has the quality and sturdiness to provide years of study and fun for young (and not so young) amateur astronomers. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Having fun looking at the moon

I am having a blast with my grandkids using this telescope. It has so many different ways to use it that we will be trying it out for a long time..

We also were watching the birds today. You can see their feathers and faces up close.

I like that the tripod can go to different heights.

The only thing that I wish it had was a carrying case. I am looking for one now.

This is a great beginner telescope. Go ahead and get one and see all of the different angles and the stars and moon like you have never seen them before.

This is a perfect gift for beginners! The quality is really nice for the price. It definitely has a learning curve for using it properly. We were able to find stars easily and had a clear view. The zoom works nice and the eye piece is comfortable. I love it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Adjustable, good magnification, very small remote
Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2023
This is a good beginner’s telescope for children and adults who like to stargaze. The magnification is adjustable, with the 3x scope difficult to add on, at first, because the screws kept falling off. The tripod is height adjustable , but it easily tips over if you’re not careful. Probably the biggest challenge was the remote and app. The remote was too small, and the app was confusing and not kid friendly. If we ignored the app and remote, the scope worked well and everyone of all shapes and sizes had a great time stargazing (with hot chocolate, of course).
