    I built a 20" band saw and purchased 1" bearing and a 1" shaft. Even with freezing the shaft I couldn't get it onto the bearings. So, I purchased this. Since it isn't driving a gear, It's OK that the bearings fit a little loose (nothing a small shim made from a strip of aluminum from a pop couldn't fix). I used a grinder to cut this shaft into two 250mm lengths for the upper and lower bandsaw wheel shafts. The chrome is nice since there is 90% humidity where I live at times and I don't have to worry about it rusting.

    Met my need for steel rods on a 3D printed drill press. The thin oil coating had to be wiped off, which was OK to assure a rust free rod was delivered.
