5.0 out of 5 stars Remove scratches on windshield

We had a semi-circular, 1 inch scratch on the windshield due to a defective wiper blade.

I tried toothpaste, chrome polish, rubbing compound, several commercial products claiming to remove scratches on glass. Nothing worked.

I found this product and decided to give it a try.

I added a small amount of water to the compound, then applied it with a wool polishing brush on my drill. I made one pass over the scratched area, then a couple more. The scratches were noticeably better. I repeated the process several times over three days before the scratches were completely gone.

I was ready to give up and buy a new windshield until I found this product. The windshield is perfectly clear now. It took some work, but it was well worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I thought I was going to have to shell out $500 for a new windshield

I spent hours with toothpaste, trying to get this giant scratch out of my windshield with very little success, and this took about five minutes with my Dremel. I had previously scratched my windshield with my watch on accident, but then I foolishly tried to remove that with 2000 grit. DONT EVER DO THIS...... I haven't gotten the watch scratch out yet, but that was so minor. It didn't even matter the 2000 grit was 10 times worse and it came out and literally under two minutes. Scratch a small enough that you can't work and barely feel it with your nail but are not able to be seen through.

Worked very well on light scratches on my windshield 2 sessions of polishing with a dremel.
Arrived in a bag coated on the inside with dust from the lid not fully secured. Perhaps a tape security seal on future jars?

I have scratches in my truck window from a wiper blade failure and this polish didn't help at all.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't remove scratches on my watch
Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2024
I used this glass polish to try and remove some light scratches on a watch crystal. The scratches are very light but visible enough that they bother me. I already tried other methods to try and remove the scratches: baking soda and toothpaste, which did absolutely nothing.

Does this powder work? Sort of. I used a dremel rotary tool at 15,000 rpm with a felt attachment. I worked on the scratches for a total of about 40-45 minutes, stopping every few minutes to rinse the watch and check for improvements. The scratches are marginally better, where they are now slightly less noticeable, but they're still there. I don't think they'll ever be completely gone. The reason for my low rating? (1) The product is very overpriced for a mere 50 grams of powder; (2) it's extremely messy and not user-friendly (plan on covering your work surface completely and having to spend a long time cleaning up everything, including yourself, once you're done); (3) the product ultimately doesn't deliver on its claims; (4) it takes way too long to get results that you can barely call an improvement at all and, ultimately, the scratches are still there.

Is it worth it? It wasn't for me, but it really depends on what type of scratches you need to remove and how much time and work you're willing to put into doing this. I'll keep looking for something that's more effective and not as messy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I wanted

I scratched both lenses of my reading glasses and was looking for a way to polish them without replacing the lenses or buying new glasses. Did some research and this was the stuff I needed. Made a paste and used my Dremel with a wet pad and worked it for about ten to fifteen minutes, stopping to add more paste or rewet, checking to see progress. You can compare the remaining scratched lens with the one I worked on. Things to keep in mind; these are reading glasses with no coating and I think they may be polycarbonate and not glass. So your mileage may vary. For me it was worth taking a chance. I avoided having to buy another pair of prescription glasses.

If you can, work outdoors as the pink paste splatters all over. It washes off easily with water but still.
