    I'm extremely pleased with the SUNLU PLA Matte Filament ! SUNLU products never disappointed me - and this filament is no exception. The matte finish is beautiful! It adds a unique, understated touch to my prints. The filament itself is top-notch, with a consistent 1.75mm diameter and a neatly wound spool that makes it easy to feed into my 3D printer. The 1kg spool (2.2lbs) of filament have give plenty of room to experiment with different projects. One of the things that really sets SUNLU apart is their commitment to quality and consistency. I've never had any issues with their filaments, and this one is no exception. It prints smoothly and reliably, with minimal warping or stringing. I'll definitely be buying again!"

    These work really great with my grandsons 3D printer. He can put them on the printer easily and they pull from the package, and print very very good. He loves the colors mixing them is so easy, they just WORK !!

    I’ve run through at least 100 rolls of this Matte Black filament without a hitch last year.

    This year starting production back up and loaded four machines with this new four pack of Matte Black filament. Every printer has had multiple nozzle clogs in the middle of prints, wasting the filament and parts. Three nozzles clogged so bad I couldn’t clear the blockage and had to be replaced.

    I love the look of the Matte Black filament on my parts. But this batch is costing me money in lost time clearing nozzle clogs, failed parts, and wasted filament.

    I first purchased this product as a single roll, and the results were beautiful! Of course, for my next order, I purchased the multi pack of four to save some money. Turns out that the multi pack of four is a lower quality product. Terrible bed adhesion, restarting every print at least once, and after multiple failed prints, I finally gave up trying to use it. I will be sending it back, and just ordered the individual rolls instead.
    Considering I went through the first roll without a single failed print and no bed adhesion issues, there’s no way this can be the same product. I will admit, I questioned it because when I unpacked it, the spools that hold the filament are light gray, and the original product was wound on a black spool, but I figured since it was the same manufacturer and the same product and the very same listing, the different colored spool shouldn’t indicate a different quality product.
    Very disappointing that they would put a lower quality product in the multi pack. There is no real ‘savings’ there.

    I've never had any issue with Sunlu filament and generally have always had a good experience printing with them. Print wise- nothing has change. Ease of use, however is a different story. The new blue spools look very nice and appear of better quality- thicker plastic and more enclosed to help with clean windings. The issue is they appear to be shorter width and diameter by a small margin- but its enough that it now causes issues with the AMS system for the BambuLab P1S, X1C model printers. The smaller spools are now not as large and do not sit as nice a gap on the AMS rollers; this results in rubbing against the bottom of each filament slot in the AMS unit. Which leads to the AMS overworking the motors as there's more friction and drag on the system. This caused issues multiple times while feeding and unloading. I ended up respooling to an empty BBL spool - no issues after. It also happened again with some Sunlu Glow in the Dark PLA on again- new spool - same issue. Respooled on a printed empty spool. No issues after.

    A benefit of Sunlu filament over say Esun or similar other vendors was that stock PLA profiles worked very well and Spools were AMS friendly out of box. Others had cardboard spools or spool sizes that caused issues. The price was also nice. But if you print alot or have a print farm- respooling can start to add up lots of time. I'd be ok paying more for an AMS ready spool. Again- the filament prints fine, but the product ease of use overall is less user friendly now.

    Great stuff. The spool is well wound, the prints are beautiful and vibrant and it's easy to work with. I was surprised to see it's a bit hygroscopic (as are their other matte PLAs that I own). That's totally fair with modified PLA, I just hadn't thought about it until after leaving the spool out for a couple of weeks. It was by no means saturated, but I did give it some time in a dryer box and it was back to perfect. I'd definitely recommend.

    I'm a big fan of this filament. I have been using it for parts and projects for the last few months and have purchased man rolls. The colors are consistent roll to roll and the filament prints perfectly.
