    Admittedly, I saw this online and it felt gimmicky, but since it was inexpensive, I figured I'd give it a try. Four years later, and I can't imagine living without it!

    Pros:
    - Cuts through anything we've tried it on (cardboard, plastic film, paper, foam)
    - Safer around kids
    - Good size to hold (not bulky but not tiny)
    - Different versions are colored differently (orange ones have a blade that stays out, while green ones you have to keep holding the button to keep the blade out)
    - Magnetic (we keep one on the fridge)
    - Long lasting (we haven't had to replace a blade in 4 years)

    Cons:
    - It's only magnetic on one side, so you have to place the right side against the metal surface
    - It would be nice if it had a hole to hang/loop through something

    I get stuff from Amazon. OK I get a lot of stuff from Amazon. This little cutter easier and safer than any knife. It’s small and magnetic, which is genius! It lives on my stove hood and is always ready. A little pricey, but it fulfills is purpose with ease every time I go to open something.

    I absolutely love this box cutter!!! I bought one and liked it so well, I bought a second one to keep in another part of the house. The first one was purchased in Jan 2021, and it's still cutting like a dream. I'm buying a third one to keep outside to break down all those Amazon boxes.
    ** I love that you can open it and flip the blade so I can use it with my left hand (I'm a leftie). Other box cutters I have to use with my right hand.
    ** I like the little built-in magnet; always within reach and don't have to search through that drawer you have in the kitchen with all the little odds and ends.
    ** I really like that I can replace the blade and not cut myself. With other box cutters, I was always nicking my finger.
    ** I like that it fits well in my small hands. Men: If you have large hands, this might not work well for you.
    ** Finally, something safe to cut open those blasted, hermetically sealed, clamshells!!
    ** Response to other comments: First -- READ all of the specifications, descriptions and view the photos.
    **Yes, it is small (Mini Box Cutter - mini is key word here) and doesn't require a heavy touch to extract the blade.
    ** Instructions on using: Hold the blade at a 45 degree angle to what you are cutting, press firmly and pull towards you.
    ** Best Used for: The Slice Mini Box Cutter is best used for household and office settings. I don't think it would hold up well in industrial settings or warehouses. Slice does have other types of ceramic blade box cutters that look like they would work better in those settings.
    ** Recommendations: I would give this to anyone who receives deliveries at home. I would also supply all my office workers with one, if I owned a business (and they still come into the office to work.)

    I've been using titanium non-stick Fiskars scissors to open packing cartons (specifically to cut the packing tape), but the scissors are anything but non-stick, and are too fat to get under the packing tape. So I decided to give this little cutter a try. I laughed when I opened the package because it is soooo tiny, to the point of being cute. However, so far it does the trick. It easily cuts through the packing tape, which is all I ask of it. It does not seem particularly sturdy, and I think the chances of it cutting through cardboard are slim to zero. But for my purposes, it is fine, and very easy to store since it is soooo tiny. If it felt a little more solid and/or if it was a couple dollars cheaper, I'd give it 5 stars. As it is, I'm giving it 4-1/2 stars. I'll update the review if it doesn't hold up through the upcoming season of excessive package deliveries.

    I purchased one of these more than a year ago based on a recommendation from my sister and it's super handy so we got another set of two. One additional for us and another to gift! We get so many packages and this makes opening up the boxes a breeze. Love the retractability since I have young kids but it's a ceramic blade so not a huge problem anyway. It seems a little pricey but we use it daily so worth it for us.

    I bought this for someone who needs to keep it on a key ring attached to a carabiner clip for work. That way they can easily remove it from the clip, use it and put it back in on the clip. They said it works well and is allowed where they work since it isn’t a metal sharp blade, they’re restricted where they work. The problem is, being made of all plastic, they’re said it keeps popping open as in the two halves separate that make the housing and the internals pop out all the time. Wearing it, if it twists just a little while you’re working, the key ring where it attaches causes the two halves to separate. Bad design for blue collar work use. They need to make this out of aluminum or something or have the two halves attach more securely where they can not separate so easily with just a little twist. Disappointing because after only 2 months, it’s now useless.

    These handy box cutters are sharp, durable and portable sized. We use ours often for box cutting and package opening. I watched this 12 pack option for a long time and snatched it up when the price dropped! The perfect little stocking stuffer!
