After plopping down $1500+ on a decent quadcopter, the last thing you want to do is cough up another $300 for a tracker. But considering that Murphy is my copilot - and I've already had a couple of close calls with losing my drone, I decided that this was an effective insurance policy. I had considered GPS and cellular tracker options, but the negatives on those systems ruled them out once I really started comparing capabilities, ranges, circumstances, and ongoing costs.
I've practiced locating my machine a couple of times using this system by landing in tall grass at the end of a flight just to see if I could then hike out and find it; and this thing works like a charm! This single $300 investment covers both of my $1500+ quads. I also dabble in High Power Rocketry (HPR), and this tracker works well for those too. Very glad I spent the money.
