Quality:
Good. The mesh sheets are perfectly flat with no bends. Corners are square. Weave is even and smooth. Edges are evenly trimmed.
Impressions:
High quality stainless mesh. The 1mm opening size means it can be used for so many purposes. It's an even weave througout and was trimmed carefully so the edges and corners lie flat. Not unravelling or coming apart.
It's a 300 type SS so it won't rust. It's thin enough to bend or form but not so fragile that it won't hold a shape.
You can do so much with these sheets. They're a decent size but easy to overlap a bit to cover a larger area if needed. They'd work beautifully for critter exclusion which is our plan. We have a corner in the sill in the basement that is hard to get to because of the floor joists. That corner also happens to be behind the brick steps and under the downspout. Over the years we've had a little water get to the sill and the steps are a great hiding place for mice and we can't get back there without taking the steps apart. So every once in a while we get a visitor. Our plan is to use the stainless mesh to pack any gaps we find and to bend these sheets to cover the intersection of the bottom/sides to give another layer of protection and staple them in place. The fact that they're stainless will ensure there is no rust if the gutter overflows and it will keep the mice from chewing through. Then we can insulate with confidence that the critters will stay on the outside. We'll also use them on the attic vents and perhaps where the rooflines meet between the garage and the house.
This is one of those items that if you've had a house for any length of time you'll find a use for it. Since they're perfectly flat and don't rust you'll be able to keep them on hand for use in any location that could get wet/damp or a salty environment such as near a pool or on a boat.
So very handy.
