5.0 out of 5 stars Quality filament, very pleased.
Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2024
Had an initial issue but it was solved by OVV3D customer service, which is some of the best product service I have had.
Filament is definitely a quality product and the best wood imbued filament I have tried so far. I have printed sample Benchys' for each of the wood types in the four pack bundle...great quality prints for wood filament. Wood filaments can be tricky and require attention to settings.
OVV3D recommends:
Print Temp: 200c-220c
Bed Temp: 40-60
Print Speed: 25-45 mm/s
Fan: On

I decided to test this filament on my Klipper based Ender 3 v3 KE, so I pushed the specs a bit just to see what I could do with it.
My settings:
Print Temp: 225c
Bed Temp: 50
Print Speed: 100 mm/s. (Probably could have pushed it faster, by a bit...maybe 150 or even 200. Though, if I were printing an item I intended to sell, I would obviously print closer to the recommended speed to increase quality of final print.)
Fan: On
I had some fine stringing but that is to be expected with wood based filament, particularly when printing at high speed, just brushed the strings away with a small firm craft paint brush.
I work mainly printing Dollhouse miniature and prop related item...I would recommend this filament to anyone wanting to print with wood.

I highly recommend this filament!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Difficult to use, but very worth it
Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2024
Using this on a K1 max with a diamond tip nozzle; picture is half walnut half white oak. This has to be VERY dried, and the walnut one seems to want to "ooze" some sort of almost sap-like thing that would occasionally clog the nozzle.

This filament took a lot of work and patience for me to get it dialed in right, but I still give it 5 stars because the quality ends up being incredible and vibrant. Not easy, but TOTALLY worth it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Prints great, but colors are much darker than advertised in normal light
Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2024
Tip: Always dry your filament before using!

My full review is listed under the pros and cons.

Pros:
- Great adhesion
- Interesting color effects
- Very shiny
- Easy to print
- Spools nicely wound

Cons:
- Colors not as advertised
- Occasional gaps in prints
- Occasional color shifts
- Pricey compared to other filaments

--Print quality--
I printed these sample spools on my Prusa Mini+ with a PEI bed and the adhesion was great. I printed at 220C with the default settings in PrusaSlicer and the prints came out very shiny with little to no stringing (after drying). The spools are wound very nicely (better than Atomic Filaments, but not quite as perfectly as Prusament), but they don't fit on the spool holder that came with my printer. I ended up laying the spool flat and the printer had no problem pulling filament without tangling.

I did hear quite a few popping noises while printing, and upon inspection I found some gaps in my prints. I do expect pops with wet filament, but I dried it down to 14% humidity so I don't see why it would still be wet. The gaps weren't very noticeable in my prints, but this could be a concern for you if you're looking for perfection.

One of my prints had a few layers where the colors moved--ie, if red was on top, it switched to yellow for a few layers, then went back to red. This disrupted the rainbow effect on the print, but thankfully it only lasted for a few layers. I didn't expect this due to how nicely the spool was wound, so I'm not sure what happened there. Again, this might be an issue for you if you're looking for perfection, but it didn't bother me too much.

--Colors--
My biggest gripe is with the colors. They're darker than what's advertised. I have no doubt that the colors are stunning in bright, natural light, but they simply aren't the same as what you see in the pictures, regardless of how your monitor is calibrated. The colors look much darker when viewed in indoor light (even when it's bright/by a window), and some of the colors look muddy, especially the tricolors. The dual colors look pretty good, but they're still dark. If you're expecting to receive the exact colors listed in the photo, look elsewhere. But if you don't mind darker shades, this might be perfect for you.

--Value--
I bought this at $35 for 4x200g of filament. That's $0.044 per gram. Prusament is $30 for 1kg, or $0.03 per gram. Atomic Filament is $30-$35 for 1kg, or $0.03-0.035 per gram. As you can see, this filament is more expensive than both of those high-quality filaments. I'd say that the OVV3D filament is good, but Atomic and Prusament are great, so in the future I'd rather buy from them than get another sample pack from this brand. The benefit of buying this particular pack is that you get four colors instead of one, which is why I bought it in the first place. I wanted to try a few different colors before committing to a full spool. I'm glad I did so, because the colors aren't what I need for bigger projects, and I don't plan on buying them again.

All in all, a good printing experience, but not my favorite final result.

By far the best filament I've tried. I use a P1P bambu printer and so far haven't ran into any issues. Will definitely buy again!

1.0 out of 5 stars Multiple prints ruined by bad spooling ON MULTIPLE SPOOLS
Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2024
I've been 3d printing for almost a decade now. I've used dozens of brands of filament. This is -the only- filament I have run into that is too tightly wound on the spool, which effectively causes the filament to snarl, not be able to be pulled into the extruder, and cause the print to fail.

And I want to be extremely clear. I have seen filament get looped under a subsequent loop and cause a small knot/snarl. THIS WAS NOT THAT.The filament is wound so tight against the spool wall that it it gets pinched.

This happened multiple times over the course of TWO DIFFERENT SPOOLS. I had to respool both, which results in a reverse of the color layout, which is not what i wanted but I wasn't going to go and re-respool it. It should have been wound properly the first time at the factory.

So if you have a respooling rig and -really want- this filament but backwards on the color gradients, go for it. I would still say that it isn't worth the hassle and you should skip this and find a similar pastel rainbow elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was shocked at how well this printed

This worked very well with little tweaking needed. I used the settings on the reels and had great results with my P1P, .4 nozzle.
