The last Carbon Monoxide detectors I bought off Amazon were telling me my house was unsafe, so I had the fire company come out and check. My levels were perfectly normal and healthy. So I decided to splurge and get a higher priced detector. This one works perfectly and has eased my worrying.

I bought 3 of these after realizing I did not have any Carbon Monoxide detectors in my house at all.
Of the three I bought, one of the detectors is faulty. I sent a message to the seller/amazon that One of them kept going off every 60 seconds and needed to be replaced. Reading the directions it says that means the batteries were low. Well this is on day One. I changed the batteries twice. It still was going off every 60 seconds. I would change my rating to 5 stars if they respond properly and do the right thing.

Kidde always has high quality equipment and customer support-and that’s why I chose their product for my home carbon monoxide detector. Super easy to install and use, and it doesn’t stand out-blends into the background.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kidde Brand Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2023
I use a carbon monoxide detectors because I have a natural gas stove and my house is heated by natural gas. I bought the Kidde brand as it is recommended by my local fire department.
Here’s the thing you need to know about natural gas that is piped into a house in the USA…the federal government requires that the gas have a slight odor. I get a slight whiff of the odor when I first turn on my gas stove, but it quickly dissipates, so I know that it’s not always spewing deadly gas and it is not deadly with the very minimal amount of gas that escapes at that time.
If you do have a continuous gas leak, then it can become deadly. So, I have numerous smoke/carbon monoxide detectors in my house. And I have two detectors that only detect carbon monoxide and I keep them in my bedroom for when I sleep. My reasoning is that during the day I will most likely smell the carbon monoxide while I’m awake. But I sleep very soundly, so the two detectors I have in my bedroom will alert me at night. The detectors I have in my bedroom are both made by Kidde, one is solely powered by batteries and the other is plugged into an electrical outlet and has battery backup. I have them located no more than 3 feet from my head when sleeping.
I can’t say with certainty that Kidde brand is the best, just that they are recommended by my fire company. However, I do have some First Alert brand smoke detectors that I also have had for years and I test them monthly and I have never had any problems with them.
A parting word for those that cannot prove that they work as described: though I have not been able to prove that they work either without filling my house with deadly carbon monoxide, it is better to have detectors with the hope that they will work as described than not to have them at all.
