A winner of a wrist brace

I didn’t get this for carpal tunnel syndrome, although I think it would be excellent for it. I strained my wrist wrangling a bike into a short space that required lifting the heavy front wheel part way up a wall. I almost didn’t order it because I needed one right away and this was a 2 day delivery. So glad I got it, because neither of the next day ones fit. Over the years I’ve used numerous braces for various reasons. I’ve had everything from basic OTC ones to those I got from the orthopedist. This is among the best. It’s the ideal combination of stability and comfort. The shape of the metal insert correctly positions and stabilizes the wrist while the cut of the fabric wrapping around the palm and the top of the hand allows good use of the fingers. The Velcro adjustments are thoughtfully placed with a wide range of adjustability. The thumb opening is well sized and placed. Too many braces make you choose between adequate cinching /support but with the base of the thumb opening cutting into the skin, or comfortable thumb opening at the expense of excessively loosening the Velcro straps and losing support. This one fits perfectly. As for the height, sometimes a brace that goes 3/4 up the arm is overkill, but a very short one doesn’t do enough. This one strikes an ideal balance.
All in all I like this brace so much I plan on ordering one for my left wrist. It’s comfortable enough that for me it would make sense to use it to protect my wrists from overuse when I spend too much time digging in the garden.

I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel and advised to do several things, one of which was getting a wrist support for my right hand. I did a lot of research before making the purchase and decided to try this product. It is exactly what I wanted. Something that did the job, day and night, of supporting my wrist at work (lots of typing) and that I could actually wear easily with an outfit that looked as "unnoticeable" as possible and was not "bulky". I got it in black and have found it is very easy to wear, is no more noticeable than a dark "glove", is easy to take on and off and to wear under jackets, etc... (not bulky. I found it is relatively small compared to other similar products so it is not awkward on the wrist. It is somewhat flexible, but keeps my wrist stable, and the adjustable velcro straps are easy to adjust for comfort so it's not too tight. Your skin can breathe well in it too. It is also very comfortable at night and light weight. I highly recommend this product.

I wanted to include some other information for others suffering from a diagnosis of "carpal tunnel", in case it is useful. I was told it was probably both from repetitive finger movements and overuse (typing and drawing), but also was greatly aggravated by carrying a heavy backpack, which affected my right shoulder/lower back, which was all affecting the carpal nerves. I was advised to get a "rolley backpack", which I researched. I purchased one at amazon online (Janson sport 8) and it had made a world of difference. Why didn't I do this years ago?!! So easy. My shoulder and back pain is literally gone after a month of using it. I also switched my chair at work to one that provides support, and follow proper posture procedures (see online) and ordered a low "sliding keyboard" under my desk. keeping my legs uncrossed really helps too). Although initially skeptical, I tried acupuncture with a highly recommended practitioner. 4 treatments later, my carpal pain is about 95% gone. Which of all things worked? Probably a combination, but it is such an incredibly painful condition, I wanted to share all the things I did which have helped. Good luck!

Double Adjustable Velcro Straps

Mueller fitted wrist brace
I tweaked my *left wrist while working around the house a few years ago, after wearing this wrist brace for a week luckily the issue resolved itself. I kept the brace.
As of yesterday, of course, now it's the right hand's turn, I immediately ordered this right-handed wrist brace to help me recover from over-extending (probably a minor sprain) while doing what I thought would be a simple task.

These braces work very well. I like that it has two adjustable straps to get just the right amount of support without causing more discomfort. The length down the arm is just right to cover exactly where it needs support. Very easy to get on and take off, even with the non-dominant hand is a big plus too. Comfortable enough to sleep in. Unavoidably as with all things, it will get a little toasty (sweaty) in hot weather, but I've hand-washed it and it came out just fine. Fingers and thumb are free to wiggle if need be.
As a bonus, I've also figured out a way to tuck a thin cloth-wrapped baggie of crushed ice in it for short periods to help reduce swelling and speed up recovery time.

Now I have a complete set of both right and left-handed braces to keep around the house because I never know when I'm going to need a little help recovering from the
"how in the hell did I do that?" moments.

It works well, keeps my wrist in place better than the others I've tried, and doesn't compress in a painful way. It fits very well and hasn't stretched weirdly so far. The only issue is that the four inner seams are unbearably itchy, but I ended up sewing a thin layer of fabric to line the inside so it's more bearable.

Edit: Fabric around splint ripped after only a week of use.

Great for tendinitis

I got this brace originally just the left handed version for tendinitis and liked it so much that when I got tendinitis in my other wrist I ordered one for it too. The hard plastic piece inside curves well to the curve of the wrist and the angle allows you to still use your fingers to type and write. I have EDS and have recommended it to others with EDS and would recommend it to other people as well. It provides just the right amount of support but is comfortable enough to sleep in. It does not completely immobilize your wrist.
