The quality it actually pretty good for the price and it works quite well. The image quality is better than you would expect when taking pictures with it. We haven't messed with its video capability much yet but I'm sure it is also of decent quality. I included a couple pics but they were only taken at 100x zoom. This goes up to 1000x and the quality is still good you just get a closer/bigger image of what your looking at. It doesn't take too long to charge and the battery lasts for a couple hours of use. It comes with a charging cord but it charges using a USB-C cord and if you're anything like me you have a ton of them laying around.
The fact that it came with its own SD card is awesome. You really can't beat this for the price. My girls have really become more interested in exploring our world thanks to this portable microscope. Whether you homeschool or not I absolutely recommend this for all kids. The listing states you can even use it to look at stars/planets in the sky but we haven't tried yet. We will soon though. This would make an awesome gift and I plan to buy more as gifts. I really am surprised by how great this thing is for the price!

It's marketed for kids over 3 years old, (seems too young) and adults. I know I am fascinated by the visuals from this "toy microscope" and I'm an oldster.
1. The most impressive part is the microscope.
2. One-click photo and video recording
3. The telescope function doesn't do that much...not impressed with that.
It's very much like a mini camcorder with a fold out screen. The screen has great resolution...as do the photos and videos. The control buttons are easy to click while holding the device. One of the buttons is the Menu and that gives 4 options...Photo mode, Video mode, PlayBack, and Settings. Within Settings are 10 Options.
The microscope lens has a clear collar at it's base that is used as a resting, steadying platform when viewing flatish items on a table for instance. Inside that collar are LED lamps for illumination...and this works very well. Depending on how steady your hands are, you can also hold the scope above a 3 dimensional object and even follow motion.
In Photo mode, you can press the OK button while viewing and this will capture a photo to the 32GB SD card...very nice...very fun to be able to playback those photos or videos.
You can playback on the small video screen of this device or you can connect to your PC via a USB cable (this USB is also used for charging the internal battery). When you view through your PC connection, the functionality of the microscope goes away and you are only viewing your files through Explorer. I have not found a way to connect a larger screen via this USB in order to view real time video.
