The case, basically a Tool Box, is a beast! Well built in both design and durability. The Dremel itself is, of course, the best rotary tool for the money you're gonna find. This 4300 is a strong contender for being the best in its class, I would assume.

Spend the extra on the bigger kit, you won't regret it.

This is my favorite tool in my collection. You can get tips anywhere, and it works on a whole host of surfaces. You can even work on jewelry with them! Get this and then go crazy with the bits and attachments.

the tool is super good and strong, if you need a good reliable rotary tool THIS IS IT! also think that the 4000 is also a good and strong tool.

I recommend getting the shaft cable and I'll try the Plunge Router attachment.
some of the attachments are just not needed, the shield and the "mini plunge" are ok the others and the "toolbox" are just not needed. I rather have a better price. I am getting a new toolbox for the tool.

Dremels are basically motors with cutting and grinding attachments. The failure points are the batteries and the motor brushes. I have killed off 4 sets of dremel batteries and finally just got a corded one. It's more powerful and always works. There is nothing worse than using a dremel for a job that you shouldn't be using a dremel for and have it die 7/8th of the way through. This is a good model, lots of options for securing the "bits". Of course it comes with the terrible moulded case that it will never fit in again and the end attachments that you won't use. 86 the box and put the nose guides/attachments in your junk drawer as soon as you get it. This has a super unnecessary laser or light or something at the end that gets in the way and is totally useless that I wish they would have omitted, but tool gimmicks are a big deal with the dremel marketing team. At the end of the day this will make a great mini angle grinder (just like you want) and you can misuse it for hours without it overheating or dying. Tldr; corded dremel of good power and lots of extra stuff to lose.

Three years ago next month, I purchased this Dremel 4300. I was using it as I do a 'lot' two days ago and it quit on me. I have an old Dremel still working so I figured the brushes probably wore out on it as my Dremel brushes had done before. I was correct. They were not completely worn out yet, but the other brush was stuck and would not pull out. I ended up having to take the 4300 apart and finally got the other brush out. During the process, however, other parts came loose and I could not get it put back together (kinda like Humpty Dumpty! I ordered an off brand because it looked too good to pass up and it offered the flex atttachment for much less than half the price that I had with the other one, but was just about worn out. Yes, I know about getting what we pay for, but Biden will be in office for about 2+ more years. :) Anyway, this is not a complaint because I got a lot of use out of it. Had I gotten a warranty, perhaps I would have had some help with replacement but I am not sure. If anyone has any ideas what to do with a Dremel 4300 that I can no longer use, feel free to let me know. The motor appears to still be in good shape except for maybe a bad brush. Perhaps I will write an addition to this story when my new rotary tool goes out on me. I still am using the one (285) I purchased over 25 years ago to operate my two-speed power chisel.
