This thing works so well that I can't believe I didn't own one sooner. I fixed a hinge bracket for the bolster on my boat that is no longer for sale. It made an incredibly strong connection and made my bracket as good as new! I would practice first on a junk piece of plastic so you can get a feel for it, but all in all it's stupid easy to use. Glad I own this thing now.

I fixed a crack in a plastic body panel on a motorcycle. The tool came with four varieties of bracket, and I used three of the them. There’s a set of pliers included to trim off the tails of the brackets. The repair is solid.
One thing to keep in mind is that it’s best to put in the brackets from the inside so their tails are not exposed/visible. I didn’t have that option this time due to previous repair attempts. They can still be faired away but it’s a lot of work to make a cosmetically perfect repair that way.

If you’re a DIY type, the cost of this tool is low enough to get it for even one job vs taking it to a pro or replacing the part

I heard about a "plastic stapler" on Youtube and by the end had to order one.
I have very old plastic cabinet on wheels that fits perfectly under my table.
One drawer broke badly years ago and there are no rolling cabinets available with these dimensions anymore. So I had relied on Gorilla Tape all these years. Never worked well enough.

Until this thing.

All of the broken bits are now stitched together like Frankenstein's Monster, and I have to say it is very sturdy. I never thought this would be repairable. One piece of the panel that was broken was actually lost, so I was able to trim a plastic lid to approximate the missing piece and - magic - the surface is healed.

Pros:
This heater has plenty of power. You are ready to go in 10 seconds.
The process works by melting the plastic and embedding metal within the plastic.
The type pf plastic doesn't matter, as long as it is thick enough for the metal to be embedded.
I was able to use this to join different types of plastic together.

Cons:
The "staples" fit into metal tubes on the heater. The fit is very tight, which makes removal difficult once the plastic is cool.
Once you remove the tool, the two pieces of metal that were inserted into your heater are now sticking out of the plastic. These need to be trimmed. Unfortunately this kit does NOT come with flush-cut snippers. They are regular wire cutters that will leave sharp 1/16" bits of metal. You will need to purchase sturdy flush cut snippers.
The "staples" that come with the 100W heater are much larger in diameter than the staples for the 50W. This means they are harder to cut and you need to buy specific replacement staples. However, the staple is MUCH sturdier than the 50W staple.
The kit comes with 4 types of "staples", each meant for a different purpose. You get 100 of each, yet you are very unlikely to use three of these types. Ever - unless you need to fix a corner. The only one worthwhile is the squiggly staple. So when you run out of 100 of those you need to buy more.
The outside corner staple is awful. It will not work with a 90 degree angle repair. The inside corner staple will.

For the price, this is the greatest tool you never realize you needed.

There are quite a few models of these available, and frankly, they are so simple I cannot imagine one brand being better than another.

I purchased this plastic welder in an attempt to repair my leaf rake, which the raking part is made of plastic. I used the include heat staples in conjunction with the plastic welding strips. I put the rake through its paces and I must say the repair is came out better than expected. It’s like a new rake. I particularly selected this plastic welding kit because it included plenty of accessories such as welding staples, wire cutters , plastic welding strips & two plastic welding tips. I would definitely recommend this product.

I happened to cross this item when trying to patch my torn front bumper. I used a few of the bits provided and was easily able to repair the crack on my bumper as well as miscellaneous plastic items around the house. Definitely handy!
