We bought this for our grandchildren to enjoy with us when we have sleepovers. What a great telescope!! Excellent choice!! It’s so fun to explore the moon and stars together. You can see the moon very clearly. Anything to get them off those video games and tablets! Great learning experience for all ages. Our grands are 5 yrs old to 22 years It was easy to assemble and it’s very study. Grandma and I are happy with our purchase.

Telescope is good quality however, I prefer the eyepiece to be on side of main lens for easier viewing experience. Definitely good for price but was not very impressed with eyepieces. Ending up returning it and springing for a slightly more expensive bigger with 130 lens. Overall, good beginner telescope for those on a budget.

The set up was easy and once we figured out how to use it properly, I was able to see the moon up close. It was incredibly cool!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for viewing the moon

We had an 84% waxing gibbous moon last night, which was the best opportunity we’ve had (so far) to test out the new telescope since buying it. The telescope comes with several lenses but I enjoyed the highest magnification to better see the details. The 6mm lens allows you to see the individual craters of the moon which is pretty cool! I don’t know that this is necessarily a “beginner” telescope but it’s the first I’ve used and most of it is pretty self-explanatory, and the manual and quick online research helps with the operation.

Pros: the telescope is fairly lightweight and pretty easy to carry. I also like the adjustable legs of the stand.

Cons: we haven’t been able to get the included Barlow lens to work. We have tried several configurations but when using it with any lens, all we get is darkness. Could very well be user error. The telescope is also a bit “finicky” with its movements. It’s kind of hard to get it to lock on a specific spot and when switching viewers it’s easy to knock it out of place. Again probably user error and will probably be better with more skill.
Other comments: this particular telescope did not come with a case, so I highly suggest getting one for storage and transportation.

The included photo was taken just from putting my phone camera up to the lens. The telescope comes with a camera attachment specifically for taking photos but I have not used it yet. I’m sure using it yields much clearer photos, but I was pretty impressed with what I could get even without using it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but needs better instructions for beginners
Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2024
This was bought for a 10 yo with no experience using a telescope outside of a cheap kids telescope. We picked this telescope because it said it was for beginners. He really enjoys using it but it is hard for him to navigate and find things to look at in the night sky. I'm sure we just don't know how to use it and all the different lenses. The only thing we can find and zoom in on is the moon, which is very cool, but he keeps trying for stars and just can't find any, even when we see they are there without the telescope. With that in mind, having better instructions for complete beginners would be better, as well as knowing when and how to use the different lenses, etc.
