OOLITIC LIMESTONE | Oolitic limestone is a carbonate rock formed from the cementation of thousands of ooids. Ooids are tiny nodules formed from the accumulation of carbonate material around a nucleus. When cemented together and lithified, these ooids can form rock.

It is exactly what the title and description say. Pieces of limestone. We got about 6 small pieces in our bag. I did not purchase these for the classroom or any kind of specimen showcase. I actually purchased them for some of my isopods that are naturally found in limestone caves. The limestone is decent quality and is definitely limestone.

If your kid is doing a science fair project about sink holes, acidity, or erosion, these work well. Not all the same size though, there was a difference of about 20g from smallest to largest.
