If you are a hobbyist coin or stamp collector, this is a great tool to help see quality or imperfections up close. The camera provides an effective resolution of things under the scope. Easy to set up and does not take up much real estate on the desk. Only recommendation is that the base would be a little heavier as I find myself bumping the screen accidently and since the unit is a bit top heavy it tends to almost tip over. I am going to try mounting the base to a wider piece of plexiglass.

I purchased this digital microscope for my son who is a university professor where he simultaneously teaches students in class and via Zoom. The USB function is a real plus. He was able to plug this in, and during a Zoom meeting, switch from webcam to the microscope with no problem. This allowed students in class to watch what I was doing on the projection screen while students learning remote could watch on their computer screens, all with excellent resolution. The ability to take pictures or video with the microscope at the click of a button is a real added bonus.

The microscope is very impressive for the price. It is relatively small and easy to pack and carry in the original box. I can set it up or take it down in about 2 minutes. The additional side lighting helps to produce shadows or provide illumination to your very tiny subject matter. Yesterday, I was teaching about the "placoid scales" of sharks. These scales are more like teeth than fish scales. Although you can readily feel them on shark skin, you cannot see them with the naked eye. This microscope showed them in far better detail than I had hoped.

The 7" screen is like a very large cell phone or a small tablet. This is plenty big enough for soldering circuits, grading coins, inspecting microprocessors, etc. If you want it big, you can always project it onto a 100" screen (which is what he does in class). The digital functions of the microscope (lighting levels, exposure compensation, timer, camera functions, etc.) can be controlled with buttons on the screen or the wired remote.

The rechargeable 18650 rechargeable battery is fairly common. While you can plug your microscope into a USB block to charge, I actually have a dozen of these batteries and external charger for my camping lights. The battery lasts for about 3 hours and (if the battery ever dies) you can pick up a few extras on Amazon for relatively little money.

Bottom line, although this may not be laboratory grade equipment, it does produce similar results and at a fraction of the cost. It does feel a bit like a toy, but it's hard to argue with the results. I'm far more impressed with this unit than I hoped. Time will tell how durable it is, but for now, I'm super happy I purchased the GOCHIFIX Digital Microscope 1200X.

If you were hoping to look at pond water and see all the bacterial under a microscope, this is not the one. With just one lens, it is limited in its focus. But if you want to look at coins or stamps up close on a view screen, then this will work just fine. I imagine this could also help you locate a splinter in your finger without having to hold a magnifying glass and a tweezers at the same time.

This product is great for coin and stamp collection. It is also great for reading super fine text on medicine bottles, and labels for those of us who are visually challenged. I also think this is a great for sewing to help me read the size of the needles that are printed in tiny text on the back of the needle heads. This is an excellent quality product that can be used for so many different tasks beyond stamp and coin collection.

It was very easy to assemble. The whole assembly process took me less than 5 minutes. Changing the settings and setting up the timestamp is also very easy. The included USB cable is used to charge your device and for connecting the microscope to your PC. It only took a couple of hours to charge the microscope.

The microscope is well constructed. The base is made from steel. The base has rubber feet to help protect your furniture from scratches. The microscope lens has a bright light, and there are two additional lights to help illuminate your work area. The microscope adjusts up and down to help you find the optimal viewing height for your objects. The screen is a 7 inch HD LCD IPS panel. The screen is big enough without being too big. The microscope works as advertised.

I placed my items on the base of the microscope and dialed in the size to view the text at the correct setting. The text was crystal clear on the screen. You have the option of viewing the images on your PC screen if you decide you need a bigger screen to view your objects. You can also transfer your photographs and videos from the included 32 GB SD card to your PC and store them on your PC. The resolution on the screen is clear. I did not have to use my PC to blow up the images in order to view the objects better. The microscope screen is big enough to see the tiniest of text and details.

I am very happy with this microscope. It will come in handy for me when I am looking at the dates on coins, the serial numbers on paper currency, and when I am trying to install the right size needle in my sewing machine. I don't have to use my magnifying glass anymore for these tasks. This is a five star product. The quality of this microscope exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with this microscope.
